Down / BOYD MCNEILLY CRORY MATIER FERGUSON CHAMBERS FAMILIES IN KILKEEL
« on: Saturday 25 June 16 23:47 BST (UK)  »
I am researching my Boyd Family in Kilkeel. I have recently found David Boyd Linen Merchant of Kilkeel b. 1752 d. 1825 is my GGG Grandfather.

David married Agnes McNeilly sometime around 1800 and they had children Robert b. 1804, Sarah b. 1812, John b. 1817 and William b. 1821.

While in Newry last year I saw records from Hugh Irvine's (dec) collection in Bagnals Castle that connected us with other families. These records showed Hugh had seen copies of Indentures concerning David Boyd and his children listed below, that were in the possession of the Chambers and or Ferguson family in Kilkeel.

I would like to make contact with anyone who is connected with any of these families so I can continue to understand and grow our family in Kilkeel.

thankyou Babzi

Dublin / corcoran cooper boyd looking for decendants
« on: Saturday 09 June 12 21:52 BST (UK)  »
I am looking for living relatives from elizabeth cooper who married george corcoran in Dublin in 1900. children I know of are Shelia born 1901, Dorethy 1903, Alexander 1905, Eleanor Laura 1908, and Shellagh sometime after this.  I know Alexander married Kathleen Dowling in 1933 and in 1940 lived in 59 Sean McDermott St Lower, but after that I haven't found any further record.

Elizabeth Cooper was the daughter of Laura Jane Cooper (nee Boyd) and Alexander Sisson Cooper. Laura and Alexander had 9 children we know of and only 2 stayed in Ireland with Laura. The rest migrated to the US.

Laura's mother was Jane Boyd (nee Carrick)  my gg grandmother.

I am travelling to Ireland in August and would love to make contact with any living relatives of these families.

any help in finding any traces of anyone still in ireland would be appreciated.

Down / BOYD family of Kilkeel
« on: Saturday 27 November 10 21:16 GMT (UK)  »
I am looking for any information on a Boyd family from Kilkeel. My G G Grandfather William Boyd a Merchant was from Kilkeel. I know his father's name was David Boyd and he was a Merchant.

William Boyd married in Dublin in 1851 to Jane Carrick and they had 7 sons and 1 daughter.
The obituary for one of William's son's Andrew Lockhart Boyd in the Irish Times stated his father was "the late William Boyd" of Kilkeel.

If anyone has any information on this family I would love to hear from them. I have been stuck on William and David Boyd for a long time.

cheers

Carlow / o'sullivan's of carlow
« on: Monday 26 July 10 13:00 BST (UK)  »
I am looking to find info on  Daniel  O'sullivan who married Bridget Cooney and they lived in Carlow. I have a number of children born to them in Borris Carlow and Crannagh Carlow. But am missing a child called James who came to Australia sometime late 1800's or early 1900's. His marriage cert says he was born around 1869.
Also his brother John O'Sullivan came out to Australia sometime before 1883 which is the year he married in Bald Ridges Aust. Elizabeth/Lizzie came out to Aust also.

There were a number of children, Patrick, Margaret, Francis, Elizabeth and JOhn and James and maybe more. I don't know what happened to the others or the parents. If anyone has info I would appreciate it.

Ireland / court of chancery
« on: Saturday 03 July 10 12:40 BST (UK)  »
I wonder if anyone has any experience in understanding or accessing court of chancery decisions from around 1867 to 1870?
I have found records of decisions regarding my ancestors printed in the Freemans Journel during this period and am wondering if the records would be still available to access somewhere in Dublin?

My ancestor John McAulay Carrick died in Jan 1861 but their appeared to be a battle between his widow and some of his children and business partners. I am not sure how to decipher what is written in the listings/decisions in the newspaper and would like to find out more of the people listed as respondants some of which are family I know nothing about.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
