« on: Sunday 26 April 15 22:34 BST (UK)  »
This is a signature at the bottom of a painting which belonged to my husband's grandmother. I think the surname is Newton but I can't make out the first name. Any help please!

Hi
I used to look at a site called Bready Ancestry but haven't been into it for a while. It is now coming up as an error. Is it me or has the site gone down?
Thanks

These are my husband's great grandparents. Not sure how it was damaged - just age I think. Any improvement would be good.

Thanks in advance

Antrim / Kerrs from Antrim
« on: Saturday 07 June 14 17:46 BST (UK)  »
Just wondering if anyone has any information on William Kerr who married Mary Craig in 1828 at Millrow Pres. Church in Antrim. Its mostly info on their children I'm looking for. I know their son Nathaniel emigrated to Australia with his wife and children and his brother William may have gone too.
Their daughter Elizabeth was my great grandmother. I think there were about 6 more children.
Thanks

Antrim / Civil marriage after a church marriage
« on: Saturday 07 September 13 22:19 BST (UK)  »
My grandparents Annie Stirrett and William Laughlin were married in Antrim First Presbyterian church on 16th February 1912. On the Roots Ireland site - in the notes at the bottom of the entry it says this:
"Church:
ANTRIM Civil
BY SPECIAL LICENCE T WEST MARRIAGE REGISTERED ON 25/02/1912."
Would there have been a reason why they had a church marriage and a civil marriage?

Antrim / Connor Presbyterian burial ground
« on: Friday 06 September 13 18:14 BST (UK)  »
Does anyone know if there is a plan of Connor Presbyterian burial ground anywhere, marking where the graves are? I visted today (the older end) but a lot of the grave stones are barely readable.

Antrim / Killoughs from Co Antrim
« on: Wednesday 24 July 13 08:27 BST (UK)  »
This is a photograph of my great, great grandfather John Killough (seated) with his son Robert and daughter Mattie. They were from the Shanaghy district of Finvoy Co Antrim. John Killough was married in Finvoy Presbyterian church on 29th August 1848. He was married to Mattie Mebin who was a widow (maiden name Stewart). There is a large Killough site which seems to go back to 3 brothers - 2 of whom emigrated to America and the third stayed in Co Antrim. I can't get back any further in my research than John mentioned above and wondered if there were any other Killoughs out there who would have any more information about the Co Antrim side of the family. On his wedding certificate John's father is listed as William Killough, Farmer.
Any help would be appreciated

« on: Saturday 06 February 10 15:37 GMT (UK)  »
Hi
I'm trying to upload a photo here to see if anyone can improve it but it won't upload for me. The message I'm getting is

An Error Has Occurred!
Sorry! There is already an attachment with the same filename as the one you tried to upload. Please rename the file and try again.

I've tried renaming it but still get the same message. Where am I going wrong?
