Aberdeenshire / Sophia Anderson
« on: Friday 19 June 20 15:59 BST (UK)  »
Hello,

I was wondering if any pro's out there could help me, I cant find anything for this person. She is my husbands Grt x2 Grandmother.

Sophia Anderson, she married John Watson (my husbands grt x 2 Grandfather)
They had a child called George Watson. I can see from George Watson's marriage cert they are both still alive in 1905, George lived in St Cyrus at the time, Im wondering if Sophia and John did too? Johns occupation is noted as a ploughman.

George died in 1931, Sophia is still noted as Sophia Skene, Previously Watson, M.S Anderson

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I seem to have hit a brick wall

Ireland / needing some help please!
« on: Tuesday 03 January 12 16:36 GMT (UK)  »
Im doing some family tree research for a friend of mine, and im struggling with this one as they are from Ireland and Im not having much luck finding anything at all for them.

The information I have is as follows:

Joseph Francis O'Reilly (no idea of DOB)- married Nellie Black
they then had a son called
Hugh Franics O'Reilly - DOB 1913

Hugh married in Edinburgh, Scotland.. but as he died in 1992 we cant access his
death cert or his birth cert at the moment.

My friend has said that her family come from Ireland, but no idea where about, so Im thinking thats why I cant find anything on Scotlands People for Joseph Francis O'Reilly... could someone
please point me in the right direction?

Ive been searching through FamilySearch.org with no luck, even tried changing the surname to
Reilly instead.

Thanks

Ive tried to make it the right size as I was having trouble uploading it, if you would prefer, I can email it to someone to restore.

The photograph, is of my partners grandfather, we think... there is nothing written on the back of the photograph.

Fife / Murray Family
« on: Sunday 03 January 10 14:41 GMT (UK)  »
Hi...im trying to find out more info on my Murray side of the family but have come to a bit of a dead end.

My great grandfather was Arthur James Murray year of birth - 1906....no idea where he was born, but died in Tayport.

He was a leading aircraftsman based in leuchars..and married Jemima Anderson Lawson Ross in November 1934 in Dundee

I know that his parents names were William Murray and Elizabeth Gilruth..but i dont have any of there DOB's
William Murray was a marine engineer, I do know that there was some connection with South Africa at some point?

Could anyone help me trace where Arthur Murray was born or where William & Elizabeth came from as Im not having any luck at all !!

thanks

World War Two / Arthur James Murray
« on: Sunday 08 November 09 15:31 GMT (UK)  »
Hi everyone,

Im trying to find out more info on my grt grandfather, he was supposedly quite high up in the RAF,
he lived in Newport Scotland..but we dont know where exactly he was born, my mother remembers that the didnt have a strong scottish accent so he might not have been born in Scotland.

His family did have a shipping business in South Africa, that shipped (dont know what) to Australia.

With living in Newport im guessing he was based in Leuchars, my mother thinks he might have been a navigator?

Born in 1906.......  died in Newport 12 Dec 1966

Could anyone help me or point me in the right direction ?

Thanks
