Berkshire / Alfred Herbert (Bertie) Bolton
« on: Saturday 30 July 11 12:47 BST (UK)  »
Bertie Bolton born 1896 had a second marriage to a Gladys A (unknown) possibly in or around Suninghill. He died in 1964 at 48 Upper Village Road, Suninghill and we believe he ran a hardware shop there which had been owned by Gladys or her family.

Can anybody shed light on Gladys, the hardware shop or where Bertie was buried or cremated. any other snippets of information would be greatfully received. Thanks

My Great grandfather had a glazing business in Grafton Road New Malden which went out of business at some time before 1934. He continued to live in a house on the site with his daughter Alice Cairns until his death in 1943. I think that6 Burt Cairns (Alices husband) had a cobblers business on the site befor opening a shop in Elm Grove. Any information would be appreciated

Somerset / HARDWIDGE/WINSTONE Families
« on: Wednesday 28 April 10 19:44 BST (UK)  »
Can anyone help me out with George Hardwidge b 1771, or his Son William Hardwidge b 1797/98 who married Maria Sayers b 1794 on 29/8/1822. They had 4 children George b 1823, Caroline b 1826, William b 1827 and Sarah b 1835. I believe they may have lived at 81 Phillip street, Jacob Bristol and could have been connected with the building trade.

Also Edmund Winstone b ? who was married to Harriot Hitchman 10/4/1822 at st James C of E. Also William Winstone married to Caroline Hardwidge both from Long Ashton and went to Australia at some time.

Many thanks

Wiltshire / APPLEFORD family
« on: Sunday 26 April 09 19:38 BST (UK)  »
Is there any connection between the Applford and Watts families? EDWARD WATTS (Husbandman) of Axford/Ramsbury died in 1623. His administration bond contains the name Applford several times and an EDWARD APPLFORD is witness to his inventory.

Wind forward 200 odd years and I have a THOMAS APPLFORD WATTS baptised 30th January 1842 at Marborough, mothers name CHARLOTTE ?

Any information greatly appreciated.
