Lancashire / Chippendale
« on: Sunday 23 December 12 20:19 GMT (UK)  »
Have just found my g.aunt ,who died in 1901 , daughter survived and was raised by her father and his second wife in Monmouthshire. She has then turned up in 1960 married to John Chippendale in Stockport. They were both deceased by 1973. Does anyone have a connection to Tom Chippendale or any information on this family? Any help greatly appreciated as Agnes seems to be a family secret.

Yorkshire (West Riding) / Stephens in Skipton
« on: Thursday 21 June 12 19:26 BST (UK)  »
On the 1911 census my grandads brother and sisters are living in Skipton.

Mary Ann Stephens  1887
Marion   Stephens    1890
Maud  Stephens     1885
Nicholas Richard  Stephens  1895

I believe their father Richard Stehens died in 1901 in Skipton , don't know about their mother Mary Jane Stephens nee: Jarman.

Has anyone any information about this family , did they marry and stay in the area, or move away.?
Any information would be a great help.

It is of her g.aunt and uncle ( Elijah Richer and Gertrude Simpson ) wedding in Claydon 1906.

Can anyone have a go at repairing the tear and enhancing the people please.

Thank you in advance.

Lancashire Lookup Requests / 1851 look up please

Can anyone find my g.g.grandparents in Manchester in 1851?

I am trying to find John and Jane Bliss. They should have a daughter Mary Ann ( born Salford), aged 3, with them.

In 1861 the family is in London minus John ,who was there with them in 1856 .

Have now discovered that John went to St. Petersberg, Russia in 1859 and we believe he worked for Charles Macintosh of Manchester before then. Did he go to Russia for this company????

Any help locating them in 1851 would be a great help.
Thank You

The Common Room / Help with will
« on: Sunday 23 September 07 22:08 BST (UK)  »
I put this scan of my 3xg.grandfather William Reygate on the photograph restoration site. It was suggested I try here to a wider audience.

Can anyone enhance the will so it can be read clearer or can anyone tell me what it says? I've had this will for over 6 months and have been unable to read it.

The will is black in this message but white on photo restoration message.
Cheers Carol

« on: Sunday 12 August 07 18:26 BST (UK)  »
If its not too late is it possible to do a lookup for a marriage?

I'm looking for marriage of Orlando Richer. He arrived in Hobart in 1911.
His son was born in Gunnedah in 1924.

 Hoping to find a marriage between 1911 - 1924.

 Thanks for lookup

Australia / Orlando Richer
« on: Saturday 11 August 07 19:37 BST (UK)  »
After searching in Canada for months ( based on family stories) I now find I should be looking in Australia ???

I have found the death of Orlando Richer in Gunnedah,n.s.w. in 1951.

I found he sailed from London to Hobart  in 1911. I do not know on which ship.

I can not find a marriage for Orlando but his son *** was born in Gunnedah 1924.

*** married *** in Gunnedah 1949.

Does anyone have any info on these people or any connections?
Cheers Carol  :)

Canada / Sidney Reygate
« on: Saturday 11 August 07 15:13 BST (UK)  »
Sidney Reygate emigrated to Canada in 1904 aged 19. He signed up for 49th Canadian Infantry ( Alberta Regiment) in 1915.

Sidney was killed in France 30/10/1917. :(

Does anyone have any information on his life in Canada from 1904 till 1915. He signed up in Calgary and said he was a farmer. It would be nice to fill in the gaps.He did not marry.
Thanks for any help :)
Carol

I have found Sidney on the 1911 census  in Kootenaya, British Columbia. He is single, a farmer in lodgings.

Does anyone have info for this area at this time.
Carol :)
