New Zealand Completed Requests / A New Zealand Look up, please
« on: Monday 06 April 15 16:32 BST (UK)  »
Forgive my ignorance, but not having much dealings with the New Zealand  BMD records, I am not sure how much info you can actually access  without sending for the record, itself.
I am looking for the marriage of an Florence Ellen Irwin, (father, Benjamin,) who married a John James Chapman, in 1907
Marriage
1907/6925 Florence Ellen Irwin John James Chapman

Is there any more info online, without having to send for the record, itself. I am trying to find out where John James was from, in England, born around 1886 and have no other details for him. His wife was from Stepney, London.
I have the death record for both he and his wife, but need to go back on his life to England. I can't find out who his parents were, either. Is the only answer to send off for the record.

As an after thought,  I wondered whether anyone is able to find anything for Florence's sister, Ethel who was born around the late 1800s, from 1886 time.. I am  trying to find out her birth record and maybe even a marriage record, too.
Thank you for your help

Australia / Hardy LUMB
« on: Friday 27 May 11 15:54 BST (UK)  »
I am trying on behalf of my cousins to find anyone who is connected to Hardy Lumb.  Hardy was married to their grandmother, (her second marriage) in 1939 in Victoria, I think.  I have no other info on Hardy, althoug  the granmother is Elsa Florence, sometimes known as Florence Elsa Cook, nee Hollingsworth.

Some very kind people, on here, found some details, for my cousin, about this couple, that they were both cremated at the same place, Florence in 1965, and Hardy in 1980 at Fawkner Memorial Park:

In 1949 they were living in Pearce Street, Yarrawonga, where Florence's sister was also living.

We are trying to find anyone with any connection to these families.  Florence sister was Nella or Nellie, on baptism record Hollingsworth, who was married to Henry Dormer. So it would be great if we could also find anyone that is connected to nella's family, too

Hope to hear from someone, soon. thank you

Suffolk / The Cook family
« on: Tuesday 07 September 10 15:45 BST (UK)  »
Hello,
I have a John Cook, born around 1810, in Dennington, Suffolk.  I have looked on the familysearch pilot index, and there are two different Johns.  One to a Robert Cook and Susan Read, the other to a Daniel Cook and Mary Tongate.

It would seem, if I have it right, that is, that both the fathers of these two Johns, were brothers.
I know all this but can still not decide which one is my John.  The first was born in Dennington, in 1805, and he was the one that was born to Robert and Susan, whilst the other John was born in Dennington to Daniel  and Mary.  Firstly is anyone else researching these families, secondly can anyone advise how I can decide which one is my John.
I cannot find him, on the 1841 census.  His son, Samuel is my great grandfather, and have looked for him, as wwell, but can't find him, either, on this census.  I do know that Samuel's mother Susan was living in Bethnal Green after her husband John, died early, in his life, but cannot find any of them.  I do have Samuel and Susan after that, thank you. Any ideas. Please.

South Africa / any help, please
« on: Friday 28 August 09 10:38 BST (UK)  »
I am trying to find out any information on a Adaline Pollington, born 1885, Dublin Ireland,  who emigrated to South Africa, on 12/12/1919.  She was actualy christened Adaline Ward, but lived with a Charles Pollington, and had children, with him.  charles died in the WW! she assumed his name before going to S Africa.  I would have thought that, by doing this, as it was just her, who travelled with her three daughters and one son, that she must have been going out to Charles family, or relatives of his.
I wondered if anyone were able to find her on the census, at all.  Or that of her children.
Unfortunately I do not know their full first names, but the ships list does say
Master FJ Pollington age 15
Miss I                        age 12
Miss e                       age 6
Miss J                        age 1
They arrived on theship, called  Edinburgh Castle
I appreciate any help, thank you very much

Dublin / Irish help, please
« on: Friday 28 August 09 10:02 BST (UK)  »
Hello,
I am researching the family of Henry Ward, born 1843, Kingstown Dublin , and Ann  Meyres.
IKNOW THAT THEY BOTH MARRIED ON 7/12/1863 DUBLIN IRELAND
What I would like some help with, please, is the families of either of them. The above marriage records was taken from an extracted record on IGI.
They both had a daughter called Adaline born around 1870s
Also William Henry Ward, born 17 Sept 1864 Kingstown Dublin.
I would like some info on them too, also if there are any other siblings, and any info on them.
Adaline lived with a Charles Pollington who was a soldier.  He was killed in the WW!.  She moved to South Africa, and departed on 12/12/1919.  But before she left she assumed her partner's surname, I am not sure whether that was because she was going out to his family, or not.
So HER children were, then known as.
Master F.J. Pollington  aged 15
Miss I. Pollington    aged 12
Miss J Pollington      aged 1
and
Miss E Pollington    aged 6
these ages were taken from the ships list
If there is anyone who can help me find the details of this family, I would be very appreciative.  Many thanks
