Lancashire / Scholefield Family of Haslingden, Lancashire, England
« on: Monday 09 February 04 00:03 GMT (UK)  »
Hello,

I am looking for information for a John Schofield b. Aug 2, 1782 in Haslingden, Lancashire, England. His parents were John Scholefield and Alicke Brukes (Brooks) of Carter, Place, Haslingden, Lancashire, England.

John had siblings Gilbert, Elizabeth, Thomas and Alice.

John married but we have not been able to find the marriage or identify his wife. We believe they had two children: Alice Schofield b. Nov 1804 married John Spencer of Manchester, England (also on this site) and we believe there was a brother John who immigrated to the US and lived in Vermont. We do not know if there were other children.

Alice and John Spencer immigrated to Canada in 1840-41. We have been able to find nothing of her father John.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hello,

I am trying to identify the family of John Spencer b. about 1796 in Manchester, England. His family owned the Lancaster Cotton Manufacturer Co.

John immigrated to Canada in 1840-1841 with his wife, Alice Schofield and at least 6 children, maybe 7. The children were John b. 1829, Elizabeth "Betsy" b. 1830, Alice b. 1832, possibly Mary Ann b. bef.1832 (but who may have died before her parents left England), Ann b. 1833, Eli b. 1833 (who may have died before his parents left for England), and James Thomas b. 1836. Baby Christianna b. 1837 died in Manchester 1839 of measles.

We have a will (1797..probated Jan 15, 1800)for James Spencer of Manchester, of the Lancaster Cotton Manufacturers, who leaves his brother and copartner, John, and sister Mary ten pounds each and who asks that his estate be sold and converted to support John Spencer, his only son and Ann, his only daughter.

We feel that John Spencer b.c. 1797, who went to Canada is the son of either James of John Spencer but don't know where to go from here.

Any suggestions of help would be much appreciated.

Pembrokeshire / ROBLIN/ROBLYN/ROBLING, Pembrokeshire, Wales, All dates

Hello,

I have history on the Roblins after they immigrated to the US and then to Canada. We are trying to link them to their family or origin in Pembrokeshire, Wales.

Our Roblins are: Owen, Philip, John, Stephen, Edward....another line which we have not yet been able to connect is Lewis and Peter and also Abraham.

All of these individuals were in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania in the mid 1800's.

I have an Owen Roblin who is in PA in 1722.....now I need to find an Owen Roblin who left Wales prior to 1722 for the Americas.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Denbighshire Lookup Requests / 1861 Census REQUEST - Wales, Denbigh, Llangerywn
« on: Sunday 08 February 04 22:56 GMT (UK)  »
Good Evening,

I am hoping someone has access to the 1861 Census for Wales for Denbigh, Llangerywn.
My great grandfather Richard Parry was born in Wales, Denbigh, Llangerywn in 1850-60. I am hoping he and his family are still in Llangerywn in 1861. I would like to be able to identify his parents ....and hopefully some siblings.

Regards,
