I am trying to find my husbands ancestors who came from Dundee. George Taylor born approx 1785 married Ann Campbell born 1785 approx. They married in Dundee in 1807. They then moved to Woolwich England where George was in the Royal Artillery. The only George I can find for a birth is from Montrose, is that near Dundee? The other part of my question is, was it common for men from Scotland to travel to England and join the army? Is it possible to get birth detail on line for these 2 and where do I go.

I qm trying to find out more about my husbands family. His GGG grandfather was George Taylor born Dundee around 1780ish, he married Ann Campbell also from Dundee in 1807. They then had their first child also a George in Greenwich London 2 years later. Firstly I would love any info on the above with such limited information the other thing is why would they have travelled such a long way from Scotland to England. As I said I would love any direction possible.

I am still searching for Mary Ann Marson born approx 1812 ish in Clawson or Long Clawson. I think her father was Thomas and mother Ann. I just want to confirm that she is the sister of William born approx 1809 at Long Clawson. Any help gratefully received.

Leicestershire Lookup Requests / Help with Marriage cert.

I am researching the Marson family, from Long Clawson. I am trying to find the marriage cert for William Marson's second wife, she appears in the 1851 census. William born 1809 and a tailor has 2 children in the 1841 census, his wife Harriet must have already died by then. His second wife Elizabeth 28 then appears in the 1851 census with what appears to be 2 children of her own.
I would like to apply for the marriage cert of Elizabeth and William, but I have 2 possiblities Elizabeth Pickard or Elizabeth Shaw. There may be more of them so any help to narrow the field would be great. Hope someone can help me.

Could someone please look up John Marson born 1866 Long Clawson Leictershire. In the 1881 census he was living at 33 Porchester Road W2, a drapers assistant so I don't think he is far away from there. I am especially interested in who he is living with and where, also his profession.
