Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / Date and age this lady please.

This picture may be my great grandmother or a relative of hers.  It was taken by a studio in Brooklyn, New York.  (I have a post on the USA forum enquiring about the photographers)
Family story is that great grandma left her husband and children in Dundee, Scotland possibly to go to USA.
She was last in the UK in 1895 when she would have been around 40 years old.

Any thoughts on the date of this photo and the age of the lady in question?

I have a photograph obtained from a deceased relative which may be my great grandmother.  The photo was taken at Contess & Rossott, 1244 Gates Avenue, Brooklyn NY.

It may help to confirm this if I knew when these photographers were in business.
