« on: Saturday 25 December 10 03:33 GMT (UK)  »
Hi All, a few months ago I managed to get some of Capt John Wilsons Army records thanks to his daughter Joan. Now he lists all his old IRA units, the one I am stuck on is No 3 Coy Engineers ( before that he was with C coy 4th Batt), he lists there actions as raids for arms (he says he was on all there raids for arms while with them) he was with them from Aug 1920 till the 16 Dec when he was transfared to the ASU & later the Squad or as he calls it GHQ Guard. He lists Captain M Mc Evoy as the leader of 3 Coy, can any one tell me anything about this unit? there raids for arms in that time period & Captain M Mc Evoy ????

« on: Thursday 23 September 10 17:59 BST (UK)  »
Hi All a few weeks ago my Mother got her Fathers Army records, there are a few things we are trying to work out maybe someone here might know.

For a start in the acts of gallantry, conduct, awards section it has "EASA Dublin 22/6/1942" does anyone what what EASA stands for?

Also in his Units & postings it has "SPG" & "CTMD" again what do these stand for ?? I do know he was in the Curragh for most of the war, the record starts with the 16th Inf Batt & he finished in the Ordinance Corps before discharge.
