Sligo / O'Boyles
« on: Wednesday 24 October 12 13:55 BST (UK)  »
Hello, I have O'Boyles from Mayo that may be from Sligo before the lines changed. Also rumored to be from Donegal years before that. Only hint I have to differentiate them is the first name of Solomon being used. My GGG grandfather was a Solomon O'Boyle born around 1800 and married a Mary Judge also from Crossmolina, Mayo. I hope someone has a person like this in their records. Thank you, Bob

Mayo / Solomon O'Boyle and Judge Family from Crossmolina
« on: Monday 23 April 12 12:46 BST (UK)  »
My Solomon O,Boyle born about 1810 and died in 1886 married a Mary Judge from Crossmolina. Her parents owned a successful knitting mill on the river there! Allegedly her mom was adopted from a family named Guthrie and they were Presbyterian ministers. Need help on either the O'Boyle line or more importantly this Judge line. Their children later migrated to Scotland, Pennsylvania, Illinois, and Massachusetts USA. At least one child Edward stayed on the farm and married a Murphy. The best clue for this line is the use of the name Solomon. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you, Bob

Looking for families from Mayo that settled in the coal regions of Pennsylvania around Pittston, Wilkes Barre, and Scranton. O'Boyles, Quinns, Judges, and others are my main interest, but may be able to help researchers from outside of US with census help if necessary. Thanks in advance, Bob

Donegal / Doherty marries a McCafferty, a Kearney, & another Doherty
« on: Wednesday 09 September 09 00:59 BST (UK)  »
Hoping someone had Doherty relatives married to Doherty, Kearney, and / or McCafferty lines. I have a John Doherty born about 1829 that married a Rose McCafferty around 1860. They had a lot of children, but their one son Michael Doherty married a Rose Doherty. Her parents were Arthur Doherty and Anne Kearney. Anne Kearney's father was Cornelius. Arthur's father was also Cornelius. I was hoping someone has a connection to these lines. Thank you, Bob C
