William Hall Percival on the 1901 census shows as 164 Battesh Lane, Great Budworth. Can anyone tell me if this is correct as I cannot find a Battesh Lane. Also can anyone make out his occupation for me please.

Denbighshire / John P Jones
« on: Thursday 09 May 13 10:55 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

My great grandfather was born circa 1865 I think in Cerrigydrudion, Denbighshire, Wales. The 1901 census shows he lived at Pand of Sudum, Denbighshire, Wales. 1891 states Denbighshire. 1881 states Denbigh. 1871 Denbigh, Denbighshire.

Between 1871 and 1881 he moved from Denbigh to Liverpool and later married Mary Elizabeth Whiteley.

I can see from the census his father is John and mother is Mary. Where do I begin to start finding his Birth Certificate and hopefully baptism records

All help is gratefully received

Hi,

John Rafferty was born c.1781 in the Longford area and went on to marry Lydia before moving to Manchester with his wife and young children. I am struggling to find any details on him, Lydia or his children. Can anyone advise me where to start please.

Many thanks

Yorkshire (West Riding) / Minstry of Pensions Hospital, Chapel Allerton
« on: Monday 27 June 11 17:19 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

I have just obtained my husband's grandfather's death certificate. It says he died of gun shot wounds to the head and was a patient of The Ministry of Pensions at Chapel Allerton. No one in the family knows his military no. or regt. (In fact some of the family thought he was actually in a mining accident). I have looked on The National Archives website and there appears to be three possibilities for his regt. Is there any other way to find out more about him.

His name was Alfred Yeoman's and he died 1st April 1927

Thank you and regards

Merionethshire / Robert Davies
« on: Tuesday 01 March 11 11:15 GMT (UK)  »
Hi all,

I have 2 problems and hope you can help me.

First Robert Davies born 1861-1865 in Corwen, Wales - I'm struggling to find him on on the 1841 census. This is causing me problems going back another generation. I think his parents may be David and Margaret but not 100% convinced. Robert was initially a coachman (so assuming he may of been in service) then by 1881 becomes a car proprietor, which brings me on to my second problem. Is there anywhere he would be registered as a car proprietor and if so where would I start looking

If anyone has any ideas which will help me to move forward, I would be very grateful

Regards

Hi all,

I am trying to trace my ggg grandmothers baptism. I know from the census's she was born in Plymouth circa 1809, but that is all I know. Does anyone know where she may of been baptised so that I can find out who her parents were.

Many thanks

Cheshire Lookup Requests / Joseph Walker 1797-1836
« on: Tuesday 18 January 11 20:38 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,

I'm researching my 3x grandfather Joseph Walker of Little Leigh, I have his life including the fact that he was licensee of The Horns Inn in Little Leigh.

I need help however confirming his death. I think he died Dec 1836 (I have seen a burial record on search pilot which ties in nicely, saying he was buried at Great Budworth). Is there any way I can confirm how Joseph died and if the Joseph buried at Great Budworth is my ancestor?
