Hi Everybody

If anybody had ancestors that were German Pork Butchers, I have a topic on it that you may find interesting. It is in the Europe Forum named German Pork Butchers.

Also, I have information on the WALL family who were pork butchers in Dalston and Carlisle...

Christian Friedrich Wahl (Hohebach b. 14/06/1871 d. Carlisle 22/06/1940) was married in Carlisle 19/11/1898 to Mary Dixon (Bewcastle b.1876 d. Carlisle 08/11/1955)
Christian Frederick Wall his son (Carlisle b. 29/05/1902) was married to a Violet Cavers in 1924

Hi Folks,
Searching for my GGGF Owen McGinley from Mullaghduff and my GGGM Grace Sweenie.

Their son, my GGF John McGinley (born 1881 Mullaghduff) moved to Helensburgh, Dunbartonshire, Scotland and married Mary Sharkey 29-12-1905.

John was living in Springburn in the 1901 census, so I'm unaware when he arrived in Scotland.

John may have been in the army during 1917, as I have my Grannies baptisimal certificate, with Infantry Record Office, Island Bridge, Dublin 1917.
I am paying for a professional at the moment to trace his army record.

Anyway, I've wondered from my original question - my GGGF Owen McGinley from Mullaghduff and my GGGM Grace Sweenie, any help would really be appreciated

Europe / German Pork Butchers in Britain

Hi All,
       has anyone read this book, I purchased it on Amazon today but will not get to read it for another 4 weeks. Does it have the names of all German pork butchers who came to Britain, I'm looking for Christian Frederick Wall who came to Britain in the late 1890's and opened his business in Carlisle.
