Hi, hope someone can help.

Has anyone used bmdregisters.co.uk? 

Before I fork out my hard earned cash, what information do the non conformist registers give? I am hoping for fathers occupation listed on a Baptist record.

Sheffield archives is closed but I note from their website that the parish registers can be viewed at the Central Library.  Had planned to visit this week, hoping to check out information from the IGI, however, the library too is closed!  Very frustrating!

Does anyone know whether the parish registers are available to consult elsewhere?  Long shot I know.

Would anyone know which religions were active during the 1843 - 1864 period in Stourbridge.
I have some ancestors who alternatively christened their children and it has been suggested that they were christened alternately in two separate faiths.  See post in Common Room, alternate baptisms.

I was wondering if anyone knew of instances where alternate children were baptised and any reason why this would happen?

It happended during the period 1843 - 1864 in the Stourbridge area and as far as I can see, they were in the same area all this time.

If possible, would someone lookup Charlotte Commons b 1823, out of the county.   As far as I can see, she is in the Sheffield area, to see who she is living with.  Commons also spelt cummins/cummings

On free BMD there is a marriage between Harriet Colton & Henry Morris, Doncaster 1878.

Is it possible to check on the 1871 census for Harriet to see where she comes from?  If she is the right Harriet, she should be from Thorpe Hesley and around 17.
