London and Middlesex / Frank Bertram Palmer married 1923 west Ham
« on: Friday 24 February 23 10:37 GMT (UK)  »
I have the above marriage to Nellie Chapman and I think that he is on the 1939 census as a bus driver
in Dagenham but I have not found Nellie.
I have traced his death to Brisbane in 1970 and his son Roy Frank Alfred Palmer died there in 2016.
Problem I have is that the Brisbane death records show brief details and whoever registered the death showed his father as Albert and mother Alice.   this does not tally . his stepmother was Alice so may be a normal error .. I have his father as Frederick William Palmer.
Does anyone know and have access to Franks marriage to Nellie Chapman to confirm if I have the correct Frank Bertram Palmer.

England / Frederick George Palmer born 1898 Woolwich
« on: Wednesday 15 February 23 14:42 GMT (UK)  »
I have the above aged 12 with his family in Burryport , Wales, the family seem to have moved to London area but I am not sure about Frederick.
I have traced a marriage at St Andrews, Wandsworth were on 5 Aug 1928 Frederick George Palmer  a carpenter marries Edith Alice Smith and his father was Frederick William Palmer which matches.
I can find a Frederick George Palmer in 1939 born 21 Aug 1898 but he is a coal retailer married to Ellen Palmer born 31 1 1895 and they live at 42 Ripple Road, Barking.
Has anyone any idea what happened to my Frederick George Palmer? and is he one of the above.
Any ruling out of the above would also be welcome

New Zealand Completed Requests / Mavis Luta Mcpherson
« on: Monday 06 February 23 15:37 GMT (UK)  »
The New Zealand free BMD shows Mavis Luta Dass born 1909 but also Mavis Luta McPherson  with the same parents Esther Edith Wright and Eric James Ward.
Mavis Luta Beryl Dass married Thomas Edward Palmer 21 April 1927 in Christchurch
Mavis Luta Palmer is 24 when SS Carmania arrives in Southampton in 1931 and other trees on Ancestry show birth as 21 Oct 1907 so probable that she was born 1907.
Are there any reasons why the two surnames for the same birth?

Pembrokeshire / Thomas Palmer 2nd class deck rating Tenby Battery
« on: Tuesday 27 February 18 10:02 GMT (UK)  »
The National Archives have Thomas Palmer Number 3173 born 1870 as a 2nd class deck rating 2800 - 3199   enrolled 17 Sep 1892.
Posted to Ship or Battery  Tenby on 5 year engagement.. there are several dates including a 2 day leave pass to his home in Swansea..
The description refers to a Anchor on his right hand

With the tattoo of an anchor and 2nd class deck rating I am sure it would be Navy..
Could anyone shed any light on what was happening in Tenby in 1890s and if the above information means he was in the Royal Navy
Thank you

Cornwall Lookup Requests / Caroline Kinsman born in Carharrack
« on: Sunday 29 June 14 11:17 BST (UK)  »
I have John Henry Kinsman with his mother Caroline in 1901 living at Lawson Villa, Parkstone, Dorset.
She gives her age as 58 and born in Carharrack but the age may or not be correct..
I would like to find more about Caroline as there were a few Caroline Kinsmans born in Gwennap area around that time... unless I can establish which Caroline it is then it is a dead end with this family
Can anyone find her and John Henry on other census years
Thank you
