Cheshire / Ann Hunt (nee Curry) born Ireland c 1816/20 died after Sept 1885 in Salford
« on: Tuesday 12 February 19 16:10 GMT (UK)  »
Looking to confirm the death (after Sept 1885) in or around Salford of Ann or Anna Hunt, nee Curry (or Correy, Corrie), born c 1816/1820 in Dublin Ireland, d/o James Curry and Winifred Doyle, wife of Richard Hunt (1804-1885). Ann's last known address, when husband Richard died on 16th Sept 1885,  was 7 Temperance Place, Pendleton, Cheshire. Her son William Hunt was living with wife Martha in Ancoats, Manchester in 1891 so that is another area possibility.  Ann was known to understate her age by as much as 10 years!

Many thanks in advance

Derry (Londonderry) / Daniel McMillan, born c 1780, Londonderry
« on: Sunday 19 February 17 09:44 GMT (UK)  »
Daniel McMillan was born in Londonderry, Northern Ireland c 1780. His parents were John McMillan and Margaret Reid. I’m trying to establish marriage details of John and Margaret and if they had any other offspring.
I guess that McMillan could also have been McMullen or Mullen.

Daniel married Mary McKelvie in Ardrossan, Ayrshire in 1818 and they had at least 8 children. He died in April 1866 in Croft Street, Kilmarnock.

Appreciate any assistance. (David in Aberdeen, Scotland)

Down / Boyce Family, Ballydugan, Tullylish, Co Down
« on: Monday 13 February 17 18:15 GMT (UK)  »
I’m interested in the Boyce family of Ballydugan (or Ballydougan), County Down. John Boyce (1815-1897), son of John Boyce and Mary McCormick, was my Gt Gt Grandfather. He married Sarah Ann Forsyth (1820-1902), daughter of William Forsyth and Isabella Harvey, from Dromore, Co Down in Gilford, Co Down on 18th Nov 1844.
John and Sarah moved to Ayrshire, Scotland and lived their lives there in Girvan, Troon, Saltcoats and Ardrossan, having 11 known children along the way between 1843 and 1862. Among them was my Gt Grandmother, Mary Boyce (1846-1915), who married James Welsh in Glasgow in 1877.
A poor relief application made late in life in Ardrossan by John Boyce indicates he was from the parish of Ballydongan, Co Down, Ireland. However, I am sure the reference should be to Ballydugan, close to both Gilford and Dromore.
Trying to get some verification of the marriages of John Boyce/Mary McCormick and John Boyce/Sarah Ann Forsyth, and to establish if John Boyce and Mary McCormick had any other offspring.

Happy to share info and appreciative of any help. (David in Aberdeen, Scotland)

The Common Room / James Welsh & Annie Semple Harrison
« on: Sunday 03 May 15 20:31 BST (UK)  »
My grandmother's brother, James Welsh b1885 married Annie Semple Harrison b1886 in Glasgow in 1908. James died in Harrow, Middlesex in 1973 and Annie in Brent, Greater London in 1976. It is unclear when they moved south, and if they had any offspring. Up to mid 1915 it is not believed they had any children. In 1932, James was living in Glasgow as he was the informant of his brother's death.

Any help appreciated!
