Hi all,

I wonder if anyone can read what the last word, the one in brackets in this entry is, it's not this persons maiden name, as that was McGuirk. If it helps they died in a Hospice in South Dublin, Ireland of TB in 1907.

TIA

Gordon

Hi,

I'm researching my Great Grandparents Thomas Johnston and Mary McCoy

So far I've found them in the 1911 census, although with their given and family names transposed.
I have also found Thomas in the 1901 Census.

Thomas was a restaurateur and hotelier and was associated with the Burlington Hotel in Belfast that I believe stood on the corner of Frederick Street and York Street. There is also I believe a family connection with the Old Inn at Crawfordsburn, which was owned at one time by a William Johnston.

I have a possible marriage for Thomas and Mary on 24 Mar 1910 at Knockbreda CoI church, but the date seems too late to match the age of the oldest child, Henry, given on the 1911 census. I've not seen the detail for this marriage

I have the children of Thomas as:

Maisie Johnston
Maureen Johnston  – 2007
Henry Johnston  1907
Muriel Johnston 1911 – 1970
Thomas Cecil Johnston 1912 – 2008
Elizabeth Johnston 1915 –
William John Johnston 1918 –
Irene Johnston

I have births for Muriel and Irene and Elizabeth, and the death only for Muriel, my Grandmother.

Any help or advice much appreciated

Hello everyone,

I'm researching my Great Grandparents William Hamilton and Margaret Gordon.

I have located them in both the 1901 and 1911 Ireland Census and I believe I have found their Marriage

15 Apr 1898 Antrim Road Baptist Church

William's Father is given as James Hamilton and Margaret's is Given as Samuel Gordon.

However despite extensive online searching I've been unable to trace births and deaths for either

From the Census and living relatives memories I have their children as

William John Hamilton 1899
James Hamilton 1902
Etta Hamilton  abt 1906
Victor Hamilton 1908 – 1982
Minnie Hamilton 1912

My mother also referred to a Gordon Hamilton as her uncle Gordon but I have no trace for him yet.

I have births for all except Etta but no deaths or marriages except for Victor my Grandfather

any help or advice greatly appreciated.

I'm trying to get some information on my two great uncles John McMullan and Edward McMillan, they were brothers but spelled their surnames differently.

My Father, their nephew, visited John McMullan in the 1950s but was unaware Edward was also in Detroit at the time.

It's proving rather difficult to get certificates from the US so any advice or assistance would be most welcome.

Edward MCMILLAN (14 Dec 1892 - 10 Feb 1987)
son of James Patrick MCMULLAN (1865-1929) and Mary DIVERS (1868-1933),
