I am looking for any descendants of Luther Williams born 1886 Felinfoel, Llanelli.     He married Jane.     By 1901 he had moved with his parents to Gowerton, Glamorgan.     He was buried at Kingsbridge Cemetery just outside Gowerton on the the 25th June 1935 and his wife Jane was buried on the 15th April 1972.   He was living at Brynawel, Cae Bassett, Gowerton on his death.

thank you

Monmouthshire / Marriage bonds of Bedwelty, Tredegar
« on: Monday 25 June 07 13:48 BST (UK)  »
Please does anyone have access to marriage bonds in Monmouthshire.

The date would be 1799 or 1800 when Ann Moss c 1782 married Richard Jenkins c 1776 on the 21st July 1800 at Bedwelty Church.

There is a marriage bond for their daughter Frances dated 1820 before she married John Owen so I assume that was the norm for my family.

Please does anyone have any access to marriage bonds in Leeds around 1800.

My ancestor Ann Moss born c 1782 Leeds (from 1851 census)     She married in Bedwelty, Monmouthhsire but I would assume that the bond would have been lodged in Leeds.

World War One / William John Williams MC
« on: Tuesday 19 June 07 15:16 BST (UK)  »
My grandfather won the military cross in WW1 which unfortunately was stolen when our house was broken into.

Is it possible to replace this and where would I go to get it?    I am in the UK.

Also how do I find his commendation? With a name like Williams I think that it will be difficult.

with thanks

Cardiganshire / Richard Jenkins c 1776
« on: Monday 18 June 07 06:37 BST (UK)  »
I wonder if can find my Richard Jenkins c 1776 - 1843 (from gravestone, will and 1841 census Bedwelty Mons)  In the 1841 census he is not born in county.   I believe he was born in Cardiganshire.

He married Ann Moss 1782 at Bedwelty  in 1800

The family are closely tied to the Marsden family of Llanfair Mines,   three Marsdens married into the Jenkins family.

Jenkins Jenkins 1791 was with a Victoria Marsden at Llanver (Llanfair) silver mines in the 1851 census.

thank you
Diana
