Roxburghshire / Alexander Deans
« on: Wednesday 04 December 13 18:50 GMT (UK)  »
Hi ,
Has anyone ever came across Alexander Deans, he married Agnes Waddell born 1863 in Scotland. Two of their daughters were born at Melrose, Isabella  1796 & Margaret 1802.  Only trace I can find of Agnes Waddell (Deans) is in 1841 census, she is living with daughter Margaret (now Mrs  Alexander Boyd) at Pathhead, Crichton Midlothian, I take it Alexander has died by then.  I can find no trace of Alexander , on Isabella's death cert he is shown as  a farm servant.

Roxburghshire / Margaret Brunton
« on: Monday 02 September 13 20:50 BST (UK)  »
Hi,
I wonder if anyone could tell me if Thomas Brunton (a mason) & Janet Turnbull who lived at Lanton had a daughter called Margaret. ?,On family search I can only find a daughter Elizabeth 1750. sons James 1764 & William 1751.  My Margaret married Thomas Storry who was a blacksmith at Lanton. Their first daughter was called Janet, that's what makes me wonder if they were Margarets parents. Other people have her born 1751 at Kelso with parents as  William Brunton & Margaret Haliburton , which may be right.  She has her last son in 1801 which makes her  about 50. I can't even find out where her & Thomas are buried. It could be at Jedburgh Abbey as one of their sons is buried there, and there are some stones that are not legible now.

Canada / Wetaskiwin Alberta photographer
« on: Saturday 25 May 13 22:36 BST (UK)  »
Hi,
Can anyone out there tell me who was a photographer in Wetaskiwin  back in the early 1900's. I have a photo of an elderly woman and I just can't make out the name of photographer. It could be F then  something  like Talbot. Have only been able to make out the name of place, after years of trying.   The photo may be a Mary Carruthers, as I have only found out she lived there. She was the wife of my grt.grt. grandmothers half brother William.  If anyone can help, please let me know what years that photographer was in operation. Thank you.

Durham / Butler family
« on: Tuesday 05 February 13 21:34 GMT (UK)  »
Hi
I am trying to find out about Austin Butler who married Elizabeth Barnes at South Shields 1877. I can find no trace of them in any census. They had a daughter Rebecca born either 1883 or 1885 who married Andrew Douglas 1904 at South Shields.    The only time I found her in a census is in 1911 after she is married to Andrew.  I am not a relation but am trying to find them for my cousin who is descended from them.
                         regards Cathiemay.
