Hi Susan!  The James Hutchinson (b. 24 Sep 1781, in Bilham Row, Hooten Pagnell, Yorkshire, England) I referred to in my post was my 2nd Great grandfather.  He is the son of Thomas Hutchinson (b. 1747, Beverley, Yorkshire, England) and Hannah Beal (b. 1742 in Broadsworth, Yorkshire) Thomas & Hannah were married in Hooten Pagnell 17 Dec 1768.  Let me know if there is anything else I could add that would help to make the connection.  Ardsley was not a very big place in 1841... I know that the families were involved with linen weaving and coal mining.  Regards.. LMH

Hi Susan.. My Hutchinson ancestors lived in Ardsley and appear in the 1841 & 1851 census.  They were James Hutchinson (1781-1846) and Mary Waddington Hutchinson (1786 1856).  Their children were Elizabeth, John, Charlotte, Ann, Thomas, James, William, George and Edward... I descend from Edward.  Do you suppose there is a connection with our families?

The term comes from a death cert from the 1840's ... Other family members were employed in the foundries around Bristol.  Some were called smiths and others moulders.  Perhaps they mare making moulds from a ring pattern.  Thanks for your help!  LMH  8)

Hi!  Does anyone know the occupation "Pattern ring maker" or "Patten ring maker".  It may have something to do with casting metal as in a foundery.  Google has failed me... LMH

Hi ChasH and Thanks!  I found the IGI records you were talking about and that very well could be him!  He (John) stated in the 1841 census that he was born in the same county... that would have been Gloucestershire. In 1851 and 1861 he says Bristol, Gloucestershire.  But that may be where he grew up or the question was answered by someone who thought that was where he was born! He did return to Derbyshire to live and died there.  Also found George Storor christening and marriage records in Derbyshire.  Great clues to work with!  I wonder why they would have moved from Derbyshire to Bristol... Perhaps to work in the foundries there.  Thanks again for your help!  LMH

Gloucestershire / Storor Family, Bristol
« on: Wednesday 09 December 09 21:04 GMT (UK)  »
Hi all!  I am new to RootsChat.. I am looking for information on the Storor family from Bristol.  They lived around the Bread Street area and some worked in the foundries in Baptist Mills.  My ancestor John Storor was born in Gloucester abt 1820 and married Elizabeth Winchester on 17 Feb 1839 at St. Paul's Parish Church, Bristol.  He lived in the home of his father-in-law Daniel Winchester on Bread St. in the 1841 census.  Marriage records indicates John's father was George Storor.  John had two children and his wife Elizabeth died in 1844.  I believe he married Charlotte Hillman in 1848 and died in Chesterfield, Derbyshire in 1877.  Any one have any ideas on this family?  I need all the help I can get!  LMH
