Shropshire / Samual Gilliam
« on: Monday 15 February 10 19:25 GMT (UK)  »
I am trying to trace my great great great grandfather by the name of Samual Gilliam, his parents and any siblings.

The information I have so far is that he was born in 1832 in a place called Kinlet near Kidderminster and then moved to Lavister near Wrexham.

Any information on the whereabouts of burials or grave inscriptions would be fantastic.

Thank you very much
Amanda J Gilliam

There was no grave inscription  for Thomas Jones buried in 1945, but
I did find the graves of Richard and Amelia Jones, died  1914
aged 72 and 1929 aged 88 respectively.

Mary, the wife of William Jones Bryn Hendre is buried with her son
William Jones of Dafarn Bridd, Llangaffo, died  1950 aged 60.

There is another William Jones, born circa 1869, buried in the church
yard. William Jones Groeslon died  1915 aged 46 and his daughter
Nel died in 1991 aged 84.

Flippin heck Graff your a star....!!. :)I can update my family tree...
and now I have a good reason to visit the village.... :)

Thomas died in chester, Im going to presume he is buried here rather than they ship his body back to Llangaffo...

Whatever files you have access to, do you happened to see a Eliza/Margaret Eliza Jones there at all......

Thanks Graff, I wont forget what youve done for me, and LadyHawk as well

William Jones born c. 1868, if he had stayed
in Llangaffo might be buried at Llangaffo church:

[gravestone inscription]
William Jones anwyl briod Mary Jones Bryn Hendre, Llangaffo
a fu farw Rhagfyr 27, 1945 yn 77 mlwydd oed

[William Jones dear spouse of Mary Jones Bryn Hendre Llangaffo,
died December 27, 1945 at the age of 77.]

Yes Im wondering if my Ggrandad Thomas is at Llangaffo church....he died in 1945 as well......

I dont suppose your from Llangaffo and could take a look for me lol

William JONES Head 31 b1870 Llangeinwen occ. Teamster ? on Farm

Thats really great LadyHawk thanks for that...
See where you have margaret and william, is it possible to keep coming forward?
Just wondered if either of them got married

Hi,

Just had another look at census and I'm sorry to say the above William & Margaret Eliza JONES on 1891c looks not to be your family even though they are the same ages and born in Llangeinwen.

I have just found them together with their father John & mother Lydia 1871/1881census.

There's no other William that I can see born 1870 Llangeiwen, Angelsey, I will keep looking though it could be that his birth place is written differently or age may differ

 :)

Ive got 1868 for William but like you said it could be different...
Old love letters that I have in my possesion dont mention people but they do mention, Llanidan, Llangaffo and Llangeinwen...then Llanidaniel is mentioned on here, so my "Lls" its all confusing..lol

The other source of 1891 was also interesting..
Richard/Amelia/Thomas/Grace...

Thomas's age of 17 almost ties in with the birth date of Ggrandad Thomas of 1873, but theres no mention of Eliza or William 10 years on from the 1881 census..........

Thanks for helping me with this LadyHawk.
My head is spinning and Im not the one taking the time to search records!!! ;D
