Limerick / Mary and Denis Summers who immigrated to South Australia
« on: Sunday 08 April 18 08:39 BST (UK)  »
hi i am wondering if anybody can help me locate a baptism/birth record of Mary Summers/Somers/Sommers and her brother Denis/Dennis Summers.

It looks as tho Mary may have arrived in South Australia in 1855 on the John Banks and Denis in 1857on the Royal Albert. there is a note in a local paper placed by Mary looking for her brother 7 days after he arrived and it mentions that she is from Limerick.
on the passenger list it looks as tho Mary records her selected county as wales and she was 22, Denis was 25 and records his selected county as Limerick

According to their marriage records their father was Thomas Summers

thanks
Kate

The Common Room / Where is Charles Briers in the 1911 Census
« on: Thursday 15 March 18 08:31 GMT (UK)  »
Charles Briers was born in 1876 his parents were Joseph Briers and Ellen Pateman, i have his baptism record and the 1881, 91 and 01 census for him but i can't seem to find him in the 1911 return. He  married Adelaide Blackburn (Turner) a widow on the 18/5/1902 in Stoke Newington.  i seem to be able to find Adelaide in the 1911 census but under the name Blackburn, but then looks as tho she dies in 1934 under the name Briers.  i know that he died in Queensland, Australia in 1960, i have a photo of him with my Nan in the late 1920's, in the riverland in South Australia.

any ideas would be appreciated  :)

Hertfordshire Lookup Requests / William James Briers/Glazebrook
« on: Saturday 24 February 18 08:58 GMT (UK)  »
hi i am wondering if anybody has access to images of Stevenage baptisms as i am curious if my 3x Great Grandfather William James Briers was baptised also under the name Glazebrook or if there is a correction in the records.  William was born in 1818 and baptised 17 May 1818 there seems to be a record of him under the name of Briers and another record under the name Glazebrook also on 17 May 1818.  i think that he may have been born a year before his parents Joseph Glazebrook and Elizabeth Briers were married.  All the way until his death he went with the name Briers not Glazebrook.

Thanks
Kate  :)

Thank for all that info, yeah i noticed that when i looked at the passenger list from hobart.  I thought he may have been on it but highlighted that the passenger got of in Port Adelaide.
I would imagine that there is a hard copy of the list somewhere.
