Hi,

Does anyone have access to the above publication please.

I would be grateful for any information that it gives for Private T (Thomas) JENKINS, no 1414.

He was my wife's great grandfather, was in the Shropshire Light Infantry and was killed on 8 Jan 1901 in Belfast SA. We already have quite a lot about him and his death just wondering whether In Memoriam adds to the info,

Thanks

Hi Keyboard,

Neither names ring bells here. My wife's family are descendants of John DIX from Somerset and Catherine MORGAN from Builth Wells. They had 10 children, mostly before they got married and so it is quite likely that Gladys and Beatrice are related to our lot but there is a limit to cousin searching

Pauline,

Thanks. It is almost certainly right. I had not looked on Familysearch. Unfortunately the entries do not give the street address for the family which is the other bit of information I would like to get.

Thanks

Monmouthshire Lookup Requests / John DIX and family on 1911 census

I wonder if some kind soul with access to the 1911 census would look up the entry for John DIX on the 1911 census. He was born about 1856 in Newport. He was married to Sophia and had children as follows: Edith, Rose, Arthur, Hilda, Elsie and Ester. I am trying to determine whether Arthur was still alive in 1911 and where they were living. But all the information on the census would be great if it is not too much trouble.

Thanks

Yes my mistake with the probable date of birth for Harriet - 1787/8/9.

Sorry for confusion.

In 1841 an Edwd Coppard in Westham had two Everests living with him - William and Harriet, both aged a rounded 25.

Thanks for all the interest Jon but,

this William EVEREST is a son of my William. The Harriet is Harriet DUNK. The Coppards are a bit of a red Herring in  finding the origins of my 3 x Great Grand mother I'm afraid.

Christine,

Thanks. I am sure it must be. I do not have subs to the census's at the mo and did the original research ages ago so perhaps it was not covered at the time.

She was Charwoman in 1851 and Lodging House keeper in 1871

Thanks very much.

My 3 x Great grandparents were William EVEREST and Harriet GURR. They married on 13 September 1807 in St Nicholas Church, Pevensey, Sussex..

They appear on the 1841 census in St Leonards.
By 1851 William has died and Harriet appears on the census as a widow aged 62 from Westham and then on the 1871 census she is listed as 83 from Westham. She dies in Oct 1877 aged 90.
I cannot find her in 1861 census.

This gives her date of birth as roughly 1787/8/9.

I have found through Ancestry transcription of FHL parish records the baptism of a Harriot GURR in Chiddingly, Sussex on the 24 May 1790 (with a DOB of 21 Feb 1790). Father John GURR, mother Mary.

Does anyone else recognise this Harriot GURR as part of their family tree so that I can disount her from my own.
