Hi, I'm looking to do both really. Have started on 'tribal pages' but wonder whether 'ancestry' might be better although I can't find how much their subscription is past the 14 day free trial without registering.
Thanks for taking the time to respond x

Hi, I've a copy of my family tree so far but would like to know the best (free) format/programme/template for putting it on to a computer. I'm going to have many branches of the family to add on a collate hopefully so I'm going to need to make some sense of it all and be able to continually amend it.
I'm a complete newbie to this so any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks x

Hi, I'm descended from Mahalahs parents Mahala Youngs and Thomas Howgego b1797 (or maybe Thos Hougego as above) and can trace back to Thomas's father Thomas, then his father Robert Hugego. This may not be of much interest to you but we are trying to find out where the Hugegoe came from and why it was changed to Howgego, Hougego etc. I'd also love to find out about Mahala Youngs b 1822. According to the family tree I've been given, your Mahalah may have been born in Ardleigh Essex unlike the rest of her later siblings all born Manningtree.

Good luck with your own search x

Hi, I'm trying to find any further info on the origins of the Howgegos of the Essex line, traced back to Robert Hugegoe born c1700 d Lawford, Essex 1721, m Anne Gerrard 1720/21
Robert changed his children's surname to Howgego but we can't trace further back than that. I'd also love to find out more about Mahala nee Youngs who married Roberts grandson Thomas in 1822 from whom we are descended.

I'd welcome any help and advice as I'm completely new to this, picking up from where my beloved grandfather left off. Many other family menbers are trying to collate information as well so I'll happily pass on any new information.

Thanks in advance x

Hi, I'm descended from Thomas Howgego 1797 who married Mahala Youngs in 1822.
Their first born Mahala 1824? married Robert Youngs as you mentioned in 1848. I have no more info on his side I'm afraid but if you have any info on Mahala (the mother) I would love to know more about her. Do you know if there is any connection between her and her son-in-law as they share the same name? My line descends from the daughter Mahala's brother James Howgego born Manningtree1836. Thanks x

Hi, this is my first step in furthering info on our family tree. We have traced back to Robert Hugegoe born c1700, died in Lawford Essex 1741, married Anne Gerrard either 1720 or as seen above 1721. I am from his youngest son Thomas' line. We don't know when or why Robert changed his childrens names to Howgego and are looking for any further info regarding the family. I'm happy to share any info I have and welcome any help and advice you can give me in my search.
Thanks x
