I have transcribed wills of this Jarvis family: Anne 1853,  William 1826.  You can find them on Genuki Devon.  Google "Melba Jarvis Miller" My great Grandfather John Jarvis (1827) left Devon in 1849 and came to Galveston TX.  He left a wife and 2 children there, names unknown,  So many Johns.  Just don't know who his parents are.  I think maybe John and Maria Beer.

Looking for John Jarvis born abt 1827 in Devon.  Father is supposed to be Abraham.  He was in 1841 census with sister Eliz. Jarvis Trant and her husband John, in E. Allington, Kingsbridge. age 14.  He married (Name unknown) between 1842 and 1849.  He went to the USA in May 1849 and left a wife and 2 children.   The wife and children never came to America.  Siblings:  Richard, Ann married ____Andrews, Thomas, marr Mary A. Millington, Mary, marr Nicholas Friend, Jane, marr Henry Scoble, William & Sarah.  I cannot find birth or marriage for John.
