Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Re: Marriage Certificate

Agree about Fulwood  and Attercliffe being geographically and socially some distance apart but Louisa was a servant at the York Hotel so perhaps not unlikely.

I have looked at the 1871 Census records for Don Street and there are several houses recorded a uninhabited and no sign of any Talbots amongst those occupied - although Louisa does not get married to William Coleman until 23 September 1872.

Thanks everyone

Just to confuse things further in the 1891 Census Louisa Talbot/Coleman is said to be born in Middlesex!

I have been unable to find Louisa earlier than 1871 Census when she was living/working in the York Hotel, Fulwood Road, Sheffield.

Although it does not fit with her Marriage Certificate I think that Louisa's parents could be James Talbot b1824 and Augusta Louisa Addams b1822 - they were married in Lewisham in Q1 1851 and were living in Sheffield at time of 1851 Census - no children mentioned and James occupation given as Pawnbrokers Assistant. James and Augusta Louisa Talbot had a daughter called Augusta b1857.

Please can anyone decipher the home address, name and occupation of Bride's father ( surname - Talbot) and the names of the witnesses ? The attachment is an extract from a too large file copy of my Great grandparents marriage certificate - William Henry Coleman and Louisa Talbot

Thanks

Thank you Charles W.

I have several other photos of my dad from 1943/47 which need restoration but I will follow your advice and scan them again at 600 before posting them.

Thanks again

The photo shows my father - second from left. Probably somewhere in Japan between April and July 1946.
