Europe / John Cameron Russia
« on: Thursday 27 May 10 19:49 BST (UK)  »
I have been led to believe that my ancestor John Cameron went to work in Russia in the late 1860's abd died there within the first few years of his arrival.

Does anybody have any ideas where i could start to look for him? Is there any where specific i could look?

Thanks

I think i may never find the answer.

Inverness / John Cameron
« on: Wednesday 07 April 10 15:37 BST (UK)  »
I am trying to find some information on John Cameron who was born in Inverness. I have a different number of ages for him depending on the censuses.

1851 he is apparently a stone mason 29 living with MARY in Wolverhampton.
1861 33 living with Mary and children Flora and John in Herefeordshire.
He then seems to disappear in the next census and i am led to believe he went to work in Russia and eventually died there.

I believe his mother was Flora and i am trying to find any possible links in the 1841 census but have so far drawn a blank.

Does anybody know if i am able to trace a potential death in Russia?

Can anybody tell me how you can look up the names of people at a particular address on a Census.
I am looking for 20 Parker Street in Derby on the 1871 census.
Thanks in advance
Sarah

Yes. This is the family in 1901 i believe. I am trying to work out Williams parentage but am unable to find him in earlier censuses.
