Dear Jennifer,

Many thanks for coming back to me with this information about the silk winding.

William Dutch born 1856 was my great grandfather.

Jennifer C. my ancestors appear to be on your entry of February last year. They were Theodosia Bost and Benjamin Dutch.

Maggie Lou mentions that the Dutches were in the silk weaving industry. I did wonder about that myself because my Dutches were all around the Spitalfields, St. Botolphs Aldgate, Whitechapel area where there were a lot of silk weavers. I don't unfortunately have any proof that they were. Do you have any information as to whether they did actually come over from Holland?
I seemed to get to a bit of a dead end trying to go any further back than Theodosia Bost or Benjamin Dutch so don't know where they originated from. I don't currently have an Ancestry membership having been a member for about four years and not really going on it enough. I was able at some point to discover their wedding bans. I still have a tree on Ancestry if it is of any interest. I believe they got married on Christmas Day at St. Dunstans in Stepney.

I may try to access mc8's tree or request access.

Look forward to hearing from someone soon.
