Re the 1911 census.I have a copy of that and the 1901.
The names tie up to some extent.
Mary and Margaret are absent as is Thersa.I think I found the first two in service somewhere.
However in the family the daughters were known by different names. For example in the censuses I have Helena,Mary,Margaret Bridget,Theresa, and Gertrude, but 'family' names were Bridie (Bridget), Tessa ?,Molly ? and  Rita ?.
Does anyone know who these shortened/nicknames may refer to.
Best Wishes

Hi Carrigross
Thanks for your reply.

My father was born in Woodstock,Carrigtwohill.I suppose you know of it.Is it still farmland?

The family then migrated to southern England about 1920s (I assume!!).

I have tried to attach a photo of the smaller photo ,but including the baby which had been cropped, but there seems to be a problem uploading it.I will try again later.

I have a son in Brisbane,I also had another there too but he has moved to Toronto (Canada).

I did hear (in my childhood days) that my aunt Sr Bridget was in Florence when the flooding occurred.

Hope to hear from you if you have further information.

Best Wishes

Hello Carrigross
Many thanks for your reply,so much appreciated.
Also for the additional information.I was giving up on finding out about Bridget.
Regarding the two photos I thought they were both of Bridget at different ages.
In the smaller photo there was a baby being held by her which I had cropped off.I assumed it was one of her sister's children.
I have not yet found out who the young man was yet, again I assumed it was a brother Fitzgerald.
It looks as if I could be making too many assumptions!!
Do you live in Carrigtwohill now?I quess it has changed a great deal over the years.
I will have to post the small photo with the baby included.
Thanks again and good hunting!

I am posting th photo here because I believe it to be a Fitzgerald family member from Carrigtwohill (Co.Cork)
Can anyone help me with the emblem on the lapel of the jacket?
Is it religious?

Many thanks
I know nothing of her but I did hear my mother mention her name, many years ago, when floods were occurring in Florence where Bridget was working to save artifacts from the water.A bit tenuous!

Hi
I have a photo attached of an Aunt who was a nun that I would like to know more about.
Her home was Woodstock (Carrigtwohill.Co Cork),born about 1893.Her parents were David & Bridget Fitzgerald who married  11 Feb 1882.

THanks for any assistance
