Hi Ken. You can contact me on my email address MODERATOR COMMENT: email address removed to avoid spam and other abuses. Please use personal message system to share email addresses. Thank You
It is interesting you have done some work on John Wilson.
I too have the marriage certificate of Elizabeth Gardley or Yardley Wilson and I had a note from the registrar who was unable to work out which was correct.
She married my Great great Grandfather in Dec 1844 and had a child Elizabeth Wilson Abbott in Jan 1845!

Gloucestershire / Re: Gloucestershire Surname Interests
« on: Monday 28 February 05 20:08 GMT (UK)  »
I am researching the Organ and CULLIS surnames for my neighbours.
The ORGANS lived in Gloucester city at various addresses in the Docks area and the cullis family lived in Witcombe.
Abraham Organ bn 1832 was married to Harriet TAYLOR whose family lived in Longsmith St in 1851.

Does anyone know anything about this organisation. My Great Great Grandfather John Abbott prepared the accounts for 1854 which I possess.

In 1852 he was secretary of The Spanish Leather Works Mutual Improvement Society.
Anyone with an interest in these organisations please contact me.
Thanks Les

Thanks for all the help.
The mystery deepens.... John  Grant Abbott seems to have led a very interesting if not honest early life.
I have lots of his possessions - shame they can't tell the story.
Once again many thanks.

Somerset Completed Lookup Requests / 1851 census lookup please for Dinder nr wells
« on: Sunday 13 February 05 21:23 GMT (UK)  »
I'm trying to identify the wife and family of John Wilson of Dinder. His daughter Elizabeth Gardley WILSON married John Grant ABBOTT on 8th Dec 1844 at Dinder. Elizabeth and her father John WILSON were both paper makers. I am also looking for James Abbott and his family also of Dinder. He was a skinner at the time of his son John Grant ABBOTTS wedding. There may be a 6 year old child shown -Elizabeth Wilson ABBOTT.
John Grant Abbot had by 1851 moved to Leeds and remarried (showing himself as a batchelor on his marriage cert) -possibly bigamy as I cannot find a death of Elizabeth Gardley Abbott.
All help would be appreciated. Many Thanks
