Hi,
Thanks for that. Dolhafren is the large municipal cemetery by the hospital. It is being catalogued by the Montgomery Genealogical Society. The smaller locked one I did manage to get into about 4 years ago & I think from memory I did have to climb a gate. I found the town clerk o be very helpful &he identified the grave for me in Dolhafren (no stone)

They are both in the upper section of old Rehoboth cemetery (the one you can see across the valley from "the Monument" on the A487.
Thomas Brees, Abergarfan Isaf died 10th May 1881 aged 66
Elizabeth Brees, died 9 August 1894 aged 68.

The other possibility is Macpelah Cemetery is Penygroes & Gorffwysfa at Llanllyfni. There is no record of MI's at St Rhedyw (yet). Salem Llanllyfni is interesting as there are many gravestones there that aren't in the Record of Burial so it can be misleading.

Dear Huwcyn,
Thanks for that interesting bit of information. I'd read somewhere that the Gwynedd History Society are cataloguing the MI's & it stretches to ?? 12 volumes. Have you come across the Reverend John Mostyn Jones who died in Glannadda in 1911 with his wife Margaret who died in 1935. It is one grave that I need to photograph. He was the Methodist minister at Glanadda MC Chapel.
Regards
Alwyn

Hi, have you any further information about Evan's father, Robert Roberts you mentioned. I have a Robert Roberts born in 1859 in Llanllyfni & another in Maenllwyd Llanllyfni in 1824.

I've located China St Chapel (M.C.) records at NLW this morning. Grifith L. Williams is buried at Dolhafren.  Does anyone know if there is someone contactable in Llanidloes who might have a list of burials there. I have spent a wet p.m. in Dolhafren a month ago & still couldn't find the grave.

Hi everyone
I'm searching for my G Grandmother's sister named Ellen williams. She married a schoolteacher who worked in Llawryglyn school untill his retirement in 1909. They moved to Glandwr Villas, Llanidloes but Grlfith (one F) L. Williams died in 1910 & I'm convinced he was buried in the town. I'm after Ellens date of death. There's a nice Obit to him in the local paper. They are not in the big cemetery by the hospital nor in Llawryglyn. I notice there is a locked cemetery near Glandwr Villas & I'm told that it was the Methodist cemetery for China St M.C. Chapel. Does anyone have any further info about it. It seemed very overgrown for such a centre of town sit; are there any records of burials there.

Hi,
I'm very grateful to you for that. I shall look up your reference. I did find a farm called the Pandy Isaf on the Rhosygwaliau road earlier in the summer but your article may be more revealing.
Thanks again

I forgot to add she was born in 1779 which made her 37 when John was born & in her fourties when Evan jr was born in 1823. Possible but goes against the grain. (Margaret born in 1786 is a better bet there)
