Hi Colin ,
Long time since we were in communication. you looked out a lot of info on my ancestors for me. You were also in contact with my sister, Joyce, in Aussie. We were both wondering if you had been too busy or had no further info for us.
The present problem is finding my mothers(Clarice Minnie Charman nee Johnson)
fathers second marriage to  Kate* surname unknown
Good to here from you again

 Keep up the Good Work
 Regards

Stop Press new info just discovered in old forgotten papers. Clara Bailey could possibly be given names and surname Cox.
Kate died 17/09/1951 aged 78 Cremated 2nd October at Perry Barr crematorium.
Hope this info proves useful, I am still struggling.

Hi Suey. Many thanks for your suggestions I will certainly be taking advantage of them. I did wonder myself if they did actually marry, but on reflection I cannot image that they did not, especially as "OUR ENERY" was an elder in the Quaker movement. His friends included George Cadbury of the chocolate Manufacturers. My sister got most of the info we have from the obituary column in one of the local news sheets, but we are the only living relatives as far as we know. She,my sister, now lives in Australia.
  Again many thanks

I am having great difficulty in getting any info about my G/fathers  second marriage. My main trouble is I am not able to travel, being disabled.
His name was Henry Johnson, born16th Jan 1868, married Clara Bailey 17th April 1897, she died sometime after 1906. Henry's second Marriage was to Kate*, Surname not known, that is where the troubles begin. The only record we have of Kate is that she died 1951/2 in Birmingham.
Henry was an Alderman on the Birmingham City Council when he died in May 1939. He was recorded in the 1901 census as a Wire Mattress Maker, which ties in with the fact that he started the Ideal Wire Mattress Co Ltd. originally in Bordesley  then moved later to Hay Mills. Another problem is that he was a Quaker, but unsure if it was a Quaker marriage.
The family address was 104 Third Avenue, Small Heath, in the Aston REG. DIST.
Go on; Make my day!! I would be most grateful.

Hello Adrian,
What a relief, it is just what I was looking for. It is my wife's family we are tracing and info is very limited. No records, apart from her immediate relatives, were kept. Also the names are common in the Halifax area.

Best wishes   Jim & Mary C.

Hello Pam,
Thanks for reply. Sorry that's the problem we have no idea how old she was.The assumption would be around 60's, say born roughly around 1866+- 10.
This has been our stumbling block for sometime, lack of definite info, plus I am an old wrinkly trying hard to catch up with the modem world.
