I will have to check 1911 Census to see what's in there.
I have never found another henry in Kilsyth , so here's hoping.

No I have not got his wife"s name . His service record did not disclose it.
I cannot find any Scottish marriage cert.
This sounds a very positive lead and I would appreciate any further info you have.
Alstair.

Thanks for that , I will look into that Info .
I couldn't find any Marriage cert. All Icould find was that his wife and children were getting an allowance during WW1.
I had a feeling he might have gone England or emigrated.

Hi Ikonas,
My grandad was Henry's brother . What I know about Henry is that he enlisted in the "2nd SCOTTISH HORSE " and served in the BOER war in 1902.
He then came back to Kilsyth and lived in King street lane  Kilsyth ,until WW1 , when he re enlisted in the ARGYLL & Sutherland HLDRS where he was promoted up to sergeant . He was wounded in 1916 (leg wound ) and discharged in 1917 on a war pension.
He was married (no details , except that his wife and family were getting an ARMY allowance ,no names) and lived in Kilsyth at the same address after the war .
I got up to 1921 ,but I cant find any trace after that , perhaps you can fill me in for my family tree .
My Grandad was Alexander who joined the Stiringshire police and then the Glasgow police he died in 1938.
I have lots more info on the whole line if you are interested.
