No I had not looked at them All of this Irish searching is new to me. My family were all in England, This is my husband's (desc) line and trying to do it for my children and grandchildren.
These valuation books added to the story and it looks like Thomas's land and house were Brown Mountain. Will look at the area on Google earth.
Thanks again you have been so helpful

Thanks
Have searched all the links you sent, but no luck.
I have a single man brn 1821 (Thomas JORDAN) and William married man brn 1811, but William died on board ship. His wife and 4 children made it to Australia. We have parents for Thomas alive in 1846 in Ireland, Kilkenny their names are Thomas JORDAN and Susan nee LEARY.
DNA tells us that William and Thomas are related, but we are trying to find William's parents as William and Thomas could be brothers, cousins or Uncle/nephew.
And I would love to get further back from Thomas and Susan as these are my son's 2xgrt grandparents. I will keep checking back as you suggest at intervals.
Thanks for your informative help.
Regards

Thank-you. It is good to see where it is in Ireland. Thanks for RC records but these JORDANs were church of Ireland/Episcop/Cof E.
The spelling was probably a guess by the ship's recorder. Thanks for the correct spelling.

On Australian immigration records I have a referee for two of my JORDAN free settlers in 1842.
The referee is Michael JORDAN with a residence given as RAHANAIAN, Kilkenny.
Can anyone help as to were this is. I have tried google maps with no success.
Many thanks

Norfolk Lookup Requests / Re: George Softley and Eliza Browne
« on: Monday 01 July 19 23:39 BST (UK)  »
Thanks for everyones help so far.
I have Eliza with her parents and siblings in Census. What I am trying to find out is whether she was the Eliza Browne that married George Softley/Softly in Thetford in 1867. So Parish marriage details hopefully will have her parents, or just her father, who should be be Thomas Browne (he was born 1817 at Croxton), and his wife was Hannah Dixon.

George and Eliza Married in Thetford in 3rd Q. 1867.
Does anyone have access to the parish records as I need to find out who Eliza's parents were. Any associated names like witnesses.
Hoping I do not have to buy the certificate, as this may not be my Eliza.
Many thanks for any help

Wiltshire / Re: Place name in 1786

Thank-you everyone who made suggestions for "Wanlop". Having looked very carefully again at the original I think the suggestion that it says Yorkshire and not Wiltshire is correct. I am following up the Henry Davidson that was later in London and admitted to the Bar. The age/dates look good for that one.
Again thank-you for all your help

Colleen
You ask for details on Michael Henry Pascal. I was wondering if you know his birth and his parents.
Thanks
