Staffordshire completed Look up Requests / Re: BENNETT 1841/1851 lookup please

Sam - I'm one of Humphreys!   If you want to talk Wolverscrofts/Warringtons then I'm more than happy.  Do you want to email me direct to talk more at some point?   hazelmills@ntlworld.com   It seems that almost all the several hundred Warringtons I've come across in the Staffordshire Moorlands all come from the same root family - similalry with the Wolverscrofts.

wow! I've just emailed you :)

Aitch,

On an unrelated note, I've just realised you're interested in researching Wolverscrofts. I've only recently discovered I'm possibly descended from Humphrey/Humfrey Wolverscroft. I've just got to confirm it really.

I also have two Warringtons in my family, both were from Staffordshire and Shropshire.

Shropshire Lookup Requests / Warrington and Bott Family, Marriage look up.
« on: Monday 21 June 10 21:18 BST (UK)  »
So, first off, hi!

I've been doing well with my 'tree' but  now I've come to a dead end. I really want to find the marriage for Moses and Ann Warrington.

I have an estimated date of birth for Moses at 1750.

Their daughter Lucy was baptised on 25th May 1788. She was born/baptised in Sheriffhales.

She married William Bott in July 1810 in Wolverhampton. I've been unable to go any further with Lucy's parents or Williams parentage and I was hoping someone could help.

Thank you for reading even if you can't help.

Staffordshire / Re: Just a little bit new.

Hi, thanks for the advice so far! Thanks for saying I've done well so far; I'm doing this as a sort of summer project for myself while I'm at home from university.

The majority of the research has been passed through the family so I'm more or less trying to confirm the connections with the paperwork because some details were extremely vague, especially going back this far.

I did find the marriage between Alexander and Elizabeth. It was the 29th September 1670 like you said above.  I'm descended from their son Radulphus Cope b. 1673.

Staffordshire / Just a little bit new.

Hey,
I've sort of been reading the forums for a few days just to get my bearings so I thought I'd try posting. The majority of my family have been in Staffordshire for centuries as far as I've researched so far, so I thought this would be the most ideal forum to post in.

I've been doing well tracing part of my mothers side of the family (back to the mid 17th century) but I've hit a bit of a brick wall.

I was just wondering if anyone knew any more about Blurtons or Copes in Dilhorne, staffs.

 I'm directly descended from Alexander Cope b. abt 1645 and Elizabeth Blurton b. 1648 d. 1688

I don't have any other information about the parentage or any other siblings they may or may not have had.  Any information would be really helpful; I realise it's a long shot.

Thanks for taking the time to read anyway.

Sam.
