Thanks a ton, dettori28!

 2) That could possibly be what I am looking for..it sounds about right..Love should be somewhere between 13 and 15 by the 1900 census...I've also seen his name as "Loue" in census records. Are the 1880 and 1900 census Reids the same? If not, I'd be willing to bet that the 1900 census record is the one I'm looking for.

3) I thought that George and Mary may be her parents because the birth date and places and names on the census record corresponded...but I could be wrong, it was a guess. :)

6 & 7) Mingo and Lucy were the parents? It's ok about Hasty..I think that is a name I picked up from a census record..These are the records I used for Lewis and Hasty:

http://pilot.familysearch.com/recordsearch/start.html#placeId=34&alivePlaceLoc1=Florida%2C%20United%20States&givenName=Lewis&searchType=close&surname=Pollock&p=recordResults

the first 3 are the same person, I believe...esp. since dates are so general.

10) that sounds very very good!!! Thanks!!! :D

11 & 12) I'm not quite sure about Idella...Now that I look back, I'm not even sure how i happened upon Sam and Delia as Idella's parents...I think someone named Della was born to Sam and Delia...

8)yes, that is the record I was looking at..I just can't figure out Mary's maiden name...

4 & 5) okay...that is very confusing indeed...R B(Robert) was my grandma's father and all of his siblings listed above are actually names that my grandma gave me as the names of her aunts and uncles... so when I saw the 1910 record I was sure that those were the correct parents...are you sure the death record people and the 1910 census people are the same? maybe Lizzie and Adah are the same people??? probably not.. ??? ???  I think maybe one of those records is a different person?

that really is confusing..of two things I am sure.. my grandma's father was R.B. Martin and his siblings were:

- Lawson(II)
- Joshua
- Henry
- Coleman
- Hosie
- Harris
- Lee
- Rena
- Minnie
- Cora

I could not find record of his sisters, but my grandma said they were so..  ???

I am fully aware that these are quite a lot of dead ends. I don't expect anyone to find all of these but if you have or can attain info about any one of these people your help would be GREATLY appreciated. I'd get a subscription somewhere but I'm not quite old enough. Thanks again  ;D

United States of America / Dead Ends!?!?
« on: Wednesday 07 July 10 00:08 BST (UK)  »
I keep hitting dead ends with The 5th generation of ancestry I've traced...they're all born in the early to mid 1800s...I filled in a couple blanks, but with what I have ( familysearch.com census records) I can't seem to get past this generation. I can't find the names of parents and sometimes the maiden name of some of the women..any suggestions??? ???
