Hi
I trying to find info on my great,great grandfather John Thomson. He married Mary Welsh in 1850 in Kilbarchan and his name appears in the 1851 census in Kilbarchan as a Chelsea pensioner but by 1861 Mary is widowed and living with her parents. In the marriage record of one of John and Mary's sons it mentions John Thomson as deceased and as a Sergeant in the Renfrew Militia. I cannot find a record of his death anywhere in Scotlandpeople. Can anyone help please.

I'm trying to find any relations of Joshua Minnice. A schoolmaster, he lived in Cloghy about 1835. He had a son James who came to Scotland, (my dad's grand father) and a daughter Ellen, who married James McClelland in 1860 in Ballyphilip.
