Leonard's marriage certificate just states the fathers name John Miles. But your right Louisa may of not been the mother! She does state on the 1911 census she his mother. The other children to John are stated as Step children.

Thanks you for taking the time to look , i have actually contacted Cleobury Mortimer for that entry and it not him.
I have contacted Holy Trinity church for Leonard but not the other children. There was no record of Baptism either. All the other children births were registered. There was Arthur, William, George,Clara, Alice and Edward. Arthur died ages 11 and Clara died at birth, it very odd that there is no marriage records for Louise and Thomas either ???

Yes Leonard states that John Miles is his father. I have try Anstey,Jones and Miles at the registars with no luck, this searching can be very addictive, and frustrating!  :)

Leonard was not on the 1901 census, he is nine on the 1911 cenus. His school records states he was born june 1902 although it did have 1903 and it was crossed out and 2 put in. I have had a look at his marrige certificates he has two, one for Anstey and one for Miles, married to a Mary McCarthy (My Grandmother) 1924. The marriage certificate ive got state Miles otherwise anstey. The plot thickens! ???

No i haven' got the certificate yet, but i will, to see if Johns Father was Richard,
That the tree i am looking at, i have found a lot of the miles ancestors, they lived in Kingsland in Herefordshire, but what i really want  to know if Leonard is the real birth son. I was told today that Kingland is quite a small village and that there are still miles family living there. Would they have to had Leonards birth registered in 1902? I have leonard school records and they move out of town quite a lot, for work purposes i expect. Leonard was born in June 1902.
