i want to shed some light on the information given so far  and what i know on the de woolfson family that resided in the united states. i will start with my grandfather, bruce green de woolfson and grandmother elizabeth lacy. our family does not know today if they were ever married. my grandfather left his family in england, his wife elizabeth and their children, to come with my grandmother elizabeth(same name as first wife)who was from the isle of wight. they had 7 children, leonard, bruce, lucia, maude(my mother), norma, ida, and jean. when my grandfather died in 1926, my mother, norma, ida, and bruce went to live in a bnai brith home in erie pa. my grandmother had contracted tb and could not take care of them. jean went to live with lucia and her husband david shaffer in philadelphia. my mother and her brother and sisters lived in the home till my mother was 15years old. she then went back to live with her mother in philadelphia who had since married and was in the process of having 5 more children. my mother worked and helped my grandmother raise the new family. continued

yes, you are correct bruce green de woolfson was born in the usa and moved to england however he left his wife he was married to in england and came to the united states again with a woman named elizabeth lacy from the isle of wight  they are my grandparents elizabeth, my grandmother was 18 years old at the time and my grandfather bruce was some 25 years older that her. i do not know if he ever divorced his first wife elizabeth before he left england with my grandmother who is also an elizabeth. they had 7 children living here in the united states. he died around 1926 in the usa. i do not any family members he left in england or any living in the united states except for my aunts and uncles, the children the bore together. my  grandfather was an optician here in the united states and i was told my great grandfather was jefferson davis (president of the confederacy) eye doctor.
