Sussex Lookup Requests / Re: George and Charlotte Redman
« on: Monday 30 September 13 11:40 BST (UK)  »
Hi I wonder if you had any information on the Louisa Duck that was mentioned earlier in the thread??  She married Stephen Redman and they are my dads 3rd great grandparents.  I don't have any parents for louisa so would be interested to know if she was related to george etc.

Thanks
Tasha

or you could post her village here if someone is local they could pop a note through the door for you.  Its worth trying to stay in touch in case something has happened if no relatives are known you could contact the local council offices and give them your details as an incase of emergency

Did you by any chance find any information on Riles Road??  I'm looking for information on the residents of 41 Riles Road, Plaistow, London in 1938.  I assume that the road was bombed beyond repair during the second world war or rebuilt on and didn't keep its name.

Would appreciate any help. Thanks

Did you find your info in Falmer?  Sussex Uni is there and the village itself is tiny made up of a few roads of houses really.  I live close by and don't mind checking the local churches if they hold records.

Personally I found this particular program very interesting as it follows a general history of part of my own family who with a relatively rare surname have been easier than some to trace (Chiodetti) it is nice to know what else was going on in history and why certain things happened the way they did makes the whole thing come alive.

What I did find disappointing was his blase and rather rude attitude towards the people who were helping him I would have bitten their hand off to be given such wonderful pieces of history but perhaps this is down to the way it was edited rather than his poor behaviour...lets hope so anyway.
