Hi Dotty,

Thank you, yes these are mine: Malcolm 2xG Grandfather & William 3x GGF.
Are images/copies of these available to request online or would I need to visit the local archives?

Thanks again

Alex

Thanks! I've (hopefully) emailed the vicar at St Philips, Girlington in Bradford and asked if she can provide any information on them from any additional church records they might have. Not holding up much hope, but you never know!

No nothing on the 1911 census as yet! To be honest I'm struggling with the 1911, can't seem to finds anyonen I would expect on ancestry!

Will keep trying though!

Hmm, perhaps I'll never know for sure!  :(

One thing I haven't been able to find is Henry's wife Ann's Death record - If you can find anything on that, that would be great!

Yes, well not as Byway...

Malcolm Byway Summers died Jan 1904 Chorlton and Albert Byway Summers d. 1920 in Chorlton.

Both married as Summers too - Malcolm to Ada Cork and Albert to Mary Shiels (I think)

Could changing the name be a religious thing I wonder?

Their baptismis at Girlington St Philip

Malcolm and Albert born September the 13 th 1864,
baptism,12 th of Feb 1865,
father Henry Summers and Ann
address,92  Girlington Road
father a scripture reader,

OK, so we're looking at a 3yr period where he potentially changed the name.....

Ah! Born Summers then....

It's a little odd the time between birth and baptism isn't it?

Most of the records I have come across from this period, the baptism seems to happen fairly quickly after birth - or do I have that wrong?

So I think he had twins in around 1864/5 Albert and Malcolm./ I believe them to be registered as Byway...Malcolm and Albert Summers Byway.

So is it looking that at somepoint between their birth and 1871 the name is changed??

Confused!
