Thanks Warren. Done that!!, Ive read and re-read all the posts, great stuff.

I am not familiar with the Trimble names that you mention, but haven't got my tree open in front of me so will get back to you if I find some in common. I would love to see your photos, how do I send you my email address privately from this site??
I am now trying to work out how far removed as cousins you and Richard are from me, I'm sure that will have me in a complete muddle before the evening is over  ;D

Hi all of you wonderful McClean researchers, I have just stumbled upon you all after receiving an Ancestry message from Richard McClean regarding how I am connected with the family. Well I am the gt gt gt grandaughter of Margaret McClean (1786-1864) and William Trimble.(1787 – 1861)  Margaret  being the sister of Daniel McClean. (Richard's direct ancestor) Whilst I have a lot of info on the Trimble side of the family I had hit a big brick wall with Margaret's side

So I am very excited to find you all and fill in the gaps, it is going to take hours and lots of cups of tea I feel. I am still amazed at the connections that can develop after just one small contact with someone.
Please also let me know if I can assist with the Trimble clan

thanks for all your help CaroleW and keyboard86. I'm pretty sure I'm on the right track now with this family. I had a feeling there might have been some variation in Mary's surname. Quite a common occurance isn't it!!

Now i'm confused I gather Staunton is near the border of Gloucestershire and Worchester is that correct? Forgive me I'm in Australia so just wikipedia'd it !! I will check the 1851 census, thanks "keyboard86"

Thanks Carole,
No not a thing. cannot find a marriage record on Ancestry either, all I can tell you is that they were registered as married  by the 1861 census and living in Hardwicke where John was listed as an ag lab, they also had 3 children by this stage.

hi all, Im trying to trace any information re my gt gt grandparents Mary Burfoot (b abt 1838, in Stauntin) married John Sims ( b abt 1837 in Moreton Valance) One of their son's John Sims (b abt 1870) being my paternal gt grandfather.  I have no backgroud to Mary at all !!

I have exhausted my Ancestry resources as far as I can tell,  and am rapidly creating a new brick wall for myself. Fellow rootchatters have been very helpful in getting me to the point I'm at now with my SIMS research so can impose upon you all again with this one.

many thanks
Vicki

I will work on the new info you have found and see how we go
