Northumberland / Re: Brookside Seaton Burn - home of Rollo Barrett

Hi Caroline, thanks so much for replying on this. Yes my original post was indeed some time ago, but Im still very interested in finding out more.

Im thrilled that your grandmother is still alive, I met her a few times when I was younger and we visited Mrs Brims at Heddon Hall. Originally this used to be with my grandma, Esther Gibson and then after she died with my father John Davison (also now deceased).

My original post was an effort to find out more about my grandmas service with your family, first at Brookside and then later (I think) at Heddon Hall.

Im not sure whether your grandma will remember me, but please do pass on my very best wishes and I would be delighted to hear about anything she remembers about my grandma Esther and her time with the family.

Thanks so much again for replying

Best

Gareth

Hi there

Im tyring to track down ancestors of my grandmother jane winifred williams who was born at Pennant, Gwyddelwern in AUG1891 to Hugh Williams and Ellen Jane Evans.  I believe her maternal  grandmother was Jane Thomas who I think may have been on her second marriage but Im getting thoroughly lost amongst williams, evans, thomas and owens when trying to track anything back?

Ive found the 1851, 1871 and 1891 census online at GENUKI but can anyone help out with the others please - particularly focussing on Pennant in Gwyddelwern?

thanks

Hi everyone

I came across the attached photograph with some narrative on the back to suggest my grandfather was sent there in January 1919 on returning from the war.

Does anyone know the history of the place or if records survive regarding what sort of treatments went on there or even patient records?

thanks

Lancashire / T Seymour Mead information - photograph
« on: Friday 07 December 12 16:53 GMT (UK)  »
Hi everyone

I came across the attached photograph of a T Seymour Mead shop where I belive my grandfather used to work.  I think it is in Manchester and someone has suggested it may have been on the corner of Copson Street in Didsbury.

I was wondering if anyone is able to confirm this or had any further information on the company, its employees or its history?

Does anyone know who owns it now - just wondering if they might still have an archive or employment records?

thanks

My William H Jones definiately served as a private with the 8th battalion, the cheshire regiment during WWI under service number 34410.

Im hoping someone might be able to please look up his medal index card and see if his service records survived at all?

Interesting, could possibly be the same one - my info is only based on a single 50 year old story so could easily have been corrupted.

Do you know how I could find out more information on this please?  Are there old records available to check, or even better something online as Im based in London?

Ive also heard of something called Crockfords register, but dont know if this would have that sort of information?

thanks

Northumberland Lookup Requests / Vicar of Bedlington
« on: Thursday 23 August 12 15:52 BST (UK)  »
Hi

Im trying to track down any information I can on my great uncle who I am told was Vicar of Bedlington in Northumberland.

I believee his name was Alexander Davison although this may also be shown as Alex or even Alec. I dont know exact dates but I would have thought he would be born around 1909.

I think his fathers name was James and he had two brother John and I think Thomas.

Any help anyone can give would be greatly appreciated!!
