The Common Room / Charles Llewellyn Delany

Charles was born in Darlaston,Staff in 1882, the son of John Alfred and Eliza Delany. The last sight of him is his marriage to Lucy Mary Hannah Hatton nee Holt in 1912. He the disappears. Lucy then refers to herself under either Hatton or Holt and married. I've searched for a divorce without luck. I've looked in the Newspaper Archives too. I'm wondering now if he went abroad?
Any help will be appreciated.

Yes, I think you're probably right! I only copied what the advert said. I've since googled Roft Tob and can see your article. Thank you

In May 1818,Robert Roberts placed an advertisement to let the The Tan Yard called the Roft Bob near Holywell. I'm trying to find out if this is the same Robert Roberts, Tanner and Farmer, who was by ggg grandfather. I've searched directories without luck.
Thanks in anticipation

Monmouthshire Lookup Requests / Gwent Archives,Ebbw Vale
« on: Saturday 22 February 20 10:03 GMT (UK)  »
Hi, Is there anyone who is planning a visit to the above? If so, would you be in a position to check the records of the Monmouthshire Police Constabulary for me please? I'm interested in a PC Rees Walters who was in Ebbw Vale and then Pontypool circa 1895. There are newspaper reports mentioning him and Mary Ann Davies and an Affiliation Order for Mary's baby,my father. By 1900 Rees was in Pembroke but I'm trying to find out more about him.
Many thanks

Yes, getting the death cert will be my next action. She did have a son but she's not with him in 1851.

I have an ancestor, Jane Smith nee Roberts who was born 1807 at Brynheilyn, Pentrefoelas. The Roberts family moved to Cheshire and by the early 1830's Jane and most of her siblings are living in Manchester whilst the parents,Robert and Margery are living in Chester. Jane is widowed in 1844, I cant find her in 1851 but on the 1861 census she is living with her brother Hugh,a widower, and a spinster sister in Manchester. Jane died on the 7th of August 1861 at Pantdu,Trefriw. She is buried in Manchester and the burial record shows the place of death. So, given that Trefriw and Pentrefoelas are fairly close, would you say that its likely that she was stayting with a relative at the time of her death? I'm in the process of researching the family of the 1861 occupant of Pant Du, Jane Williams nee Owens to try and find a link but would appreciate the thoughts of others. Many thanks

Hanes Teulu, have found the newspaper article regarding Hugh. It mentions his mother being do shocked she might never recover but not her name sadly. Have had no luck finding his burial or Capel y Bont. The only birth I can find for a Hugh Roberts circa 1805 is a baptism 11 Jan 1804 in Llanrwst, the son of Hugh and Dorothy. My Robert Roberts is said to have been born there too - I wonder if the farm and families are linked?

Hanes Teulu, the article from 1831 which refers to the drowning of Hugh Roberts of Bryn Heilyn -I’ve been trying to find a death record on parish registers for him without luck. Would that article have been printed at that time, like a newspaper or would it have been referring to something that had happened some time before?
