:)Hi I remember visiting my Mother,s Family as a Child ,they lived in Oulton just down the Lane from Stone and when we walked into Stone we passed the Lotus Shoe Factory(still going I think),I think my Mother,s Cousin,s Husband Bill Trout worked there, and I have just obtained a copy of my Grandads Marriage Certificate and on it his Father William Malpas is shown as a ShoeMaker this was dated 1907.I am not certain (i am going to look now)but I think that there was also a Shoe Factory in Oulton Village in Church Lane ,I think I saw a photo of this on the Staffordshire Past Tracks so it seems that Shoe Making has a History of Trade in Stone and Oulton, best regards Vivien

:) Hi Jill lovely to hear from you, when I saw the photo of my Great GrandMother I felt as if I had been given a precious gift silly maybe but I am totally fascinated with my Mother,s side of the Family and Oulton .I visited as a Child and stayed with my Mother,s Cousin Barbara Trout at Rough Close and have been back a couple of times since. It was a different World and I have always felt like a displaced Person. My Cousin is researching the Malpas Family also and through her I have 2 more photos ,1 of Mum and her Sister and Brothers when she was aged 4yrs and 1 of her Mum,s( my Aunt) Wedding where my Mum is in her 30,s with my Brother aged about 12 to 18mths (not worked it out ) I must say that all the working out of Births and Deaths etc can be a bit daunting but these photos are like Gold to me,sorry going on a bit hope yopu find the info you were looking for it was really nice of you to reply, bye Jill  :)

:)Hi, I am trying to research my Mother,s Family who lived in Oulton and their Name was Malpas,I have found the Staffordshire Past Track Site very useful,it has pictures of Oulton and I am sure it has a photo of Oulton Old Hall, also there is a Village Web Site and I am sure that you would be able to access any info from there,I even found an old photograph of my Great GrandMother on the Village Web Site.I visited the Village recently as I am searching for the location of Hill Crest Farm House where my Mother,s Family lived I was told that it had been demolished, anyway Good Luck with your search, regards Vivien
