Photo found in old inherited album. Back shows sent to Miss Beatrice Potts, but then message and name of sender has been scratched away.  Beatrice lived in the Elswick area of Newcastle upon Tyne, she died aged 18 in 1886.  So I have always thought maybe sent by a love interest that maybe went sour, but in that case why not just destroy the photo.   Only thing is maybe some member of the family is also shown.   If anyone can suggest what the trade /occupation of the group is, that may help clarify matters.

Thank you.

Sorry forgot to mention Edith age 1 living with grandparents Martin and Phoebe Porter.   The whole family,  grandparents, Edith, Ruth and George all move to Newcastle. 1881 census shows Edith still with grandparents ( although Martin now known as Henry!!) and Edith has taken her mothers married surname.

Norfolk Lookup Requests / Help missing a birth/baptism record 1870 East Dereham
« on: Tuesday 09 April 24 02:40 BST (UK)  »
Ruth Phoebe Porter had an illegitimate daughter Edith born 1870  ( I think, she would  be illegitimate as Ruth is described as a spinster on marriage cert of 1872).  Edith always states born East Dereham on any census  (1871-1901)  However I can find no trace of a birth or baptismal record.  Any info much appreciated.    Thank you.

My father's RAF service record shows he was sent to 50 PTC in 1946 as part of his demob process. But I've been unable to ascertain where this was. Prior to going to this PTC he served in Hong Kong.

Thank you for the very prompt response.

Indeed it was 1786, her daughter Hannah ( line of descent) was born 1796 hence the confusion!

Thanks for link to lincstothepast,  not a website I had managed to find. Unfortunately unable to access image on my iPad but will view as soon as get to a computer.

Regards
