Hi Joshua
What would you like to know. I'll help you as much as I can.
you can email me at
(*)
I find it less time consuming than emailing constantly on here.
My grandfather was Cyril Frederik Leismann.
I don't have much on the Leismann Family but will help you however I can.
Cheers
Jen

Thanks so much guys. I'm actually doing this research for an elderly Family Friend so we both appreciate the help.
I need to check some more details with the Family Member but some of the information you have bought to light has proved fruitful.
Thank you so very much.

Ireland / Crossett & Irwin
« on: Thursday 23 May 13 12:28 BST (UK)  »
Hi Guys,
In serious need of help.
I am looking for any information on Samuel Crossett (1912 - ) married to Adeline Lucy Irwin (1922 - ).
Both were born in Northern Ireland somewhere and both are now deceased.
They have 1 son that I know about "Living" Crossett and possibly 5 or 6 more children. I believe both travelled to Australia and died somewhere there.
I have no idea where to look for information from Northern Ireland and I have no more on Samuel or Adeline.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a number of interesting books that I was given that are no use to me.

- The World Book Of MacMillans
It was printed in the USA exclusively for Family Members but there is no name in it.

- The Automobile Association Members Handbook England & Wales 1951-1952

- A Guide Book Of United States Coins 19th Edition 1966
  By R. S. Yeoman

- A Guide Book Of Modern European Coins (x2)
  By Robert P. Harris

- Standard Catalogue Of British Coins Seaby 1966

- Standard Catalogue Of Canadian Coins Tokens And Paper Money Fifteenth Edition 1967
  By J. E. Charlton

- The Standard Catalogue Of The Postage Stamps Of The World Published Annually Thirty-First Edition 1932

- Miscellaneous Correspondence In Pitman's Shorthand Second Series

- Pitman's Shorthand New Era Edition Shorthand Instructor

- Pitman's Pocket Shorthand Dictionary New Era Edition (I have 2 but I'm not sure they are the same. They look almost identical but for a few minor differences)

I hate wasting books and resources that I can share with someone else. If you would like pictures then send me a message. I will post them to you with no expense to yourself.
Most of the above books are in pretty good condition, the rest are still readable but need to be handled gently.

New Zealand Completed Requests / Leismann Family
« on: Friday 07 December 12 10:50 GMT (UK)  »
This topic is pretty much complete except I got one more question. I met a person on here a while back that was related to the Leismann Family from Denmark. I have searched as many different things on here that I could think of to find this person. Does anyone know who I'm talking about. If you do can you let them know I'd like to chat to them.

I am in desperate need of help. I cannot trace the Leismann Family of New Zealand. I have searched New Zealand's BDM and have come up a blank.
I have managed to trace the leismann family back to:

Jacob Peter Frederik Leismann b. c1889 Place: Unknown d. 1957 Place: NZ BDM has a record for him so I'd say NZ.
Jacob married Hetty Elizabeth Edwards b. c1895 Place: Unknown d. 1969 Place: Most probably New Zealand as they have a record for her.

Jacob & Hetty had 2 sons:

Cyril Frederik Leismann (my Grandfather) b. 6 Sept 1922 Place: Whangerei, New Zealand d. 4 Nov 1990 Place: New Zealand     I have all the details from Cyril down the line.

Frederik Peter Leismann b. 14 Aug 1927 Place: Unknown d. 1993 Place: Unknown
Frederik married Shirley Jean Unknown.
They had 1 daughter that I definitely know about, but there have been rumors of at least 14 children.

I have been told that the Leismann Family traces back to Denmark but I don't have enough information to begin looking there as I have no idea which person immigrated to New Zealand. I spoke to a Lady who has done a ton of research on the Denmark Leismann Family but she can't help me until I can find the relative who first came to New Zealand.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated as I've hit a brick wall.

Thanks in advance guys.

Unwanted Certificates & Artefacts / The World Book Of MacMillans
« on: Wednesday 15 August 12 12:51 BST (UK)  »
Hey guys,
Rencently I was given a whole box of books from a Nursing home. I came across this book "The World Book of MacMillans". I love researching my Family History so I thought I'd put it on here for someone to use.
It looks to be a specially printed Family History. It doesn't appear to be on any particular person or Family Line. It seems to be more focused on the Name itself. It does have a Coat of Arms and the history of this particular Coat of Arms.

If anyone is interested please message me and I can send it/photos.
