Family History Beginners Board / Re: Mary Jane Fulton Born Liverpool 1899
« on: Saturday 02 November 13 14:39 GMT (UK)  »
Thanks to Andycand & Garstonite for the great information supplied which I have now added to my chart.

As mentioned in earlier posts .... Mary Jane Fulton appears in both the 1901 and 1911 census as living with my great great Grandmother in Drogheda Ireland. We always assumed that her Mother Mary Jane Carolan must have died in the years following her birth.

1901 http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/reels/nai001053464/
1911 http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/reels/nai002918236/

Unfortunately I cannot find a death for Mary Jane Carolan /Fulton in Ireland or England

Mary J Fulton appears on the 1901 and 1911 census as a niece of William Carolan and Jane Clarke - It states that she was born in Liverpool - she was well know to my extended family and visited Drogheda many times. She was certainly seen as a cousin

I have an address for Jenny Fulton that I fond on a scrap of Paper. Jenny Fulton 42 Fairway North - Newferry - Cheshire England.

Jenny Fulton married a  Mr Don Calder in Birkenhead in 1928 - They may have had a son also in 1928. http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/reels/nai002918236/

She appears on the 1901 Ireland census as Mary J Fulton aged 2 and she is described as a niece to my GG Grandmother Jane Carolan (Nee Clarke) http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/reels/nai001053464/

She also appears in the 1911 still living with my GG Grandmother Jane Carolan (Nee Clarke). This time she is described as a grand daughter.

Have you any details of the name of the ship or the location of the sinking .... or any other details that might broaden the search.

Louth / Re: Runaway McGuirk Child
« on: Thursday 03 October 13 20:27 BST (UK)  »
Hi

The Drogheda Boro Council Library houses the 3 main newspapers of that era. The Drogheda Independent, Drogheda Advertiser and Drogheda Argus.

I would say that there is a good chance that an event like this would have been covered by the newspapers at the time.

The McGuirk and Boylan Families would be well known in the Baltray,Termonfeckin and Drogheda Area.

Regards

Terry
