Forfarian. Thank you again for all your help and advice. As yet i have no certificates for this current subject. The last that i have as information is that Edinburgh is closed. Also i do not know what information i need to get the paperwork . As for mum in law i have been given lots of information from MonicaL as mum in law moved t London, died  and buried there. I have been given a grave finder but i am finding it difficult. (https://www.findagrave.com/) It asks for information that i do not have. Thank you again and to all that give help. Keep safe.

Lanarkshire / Martin , may have been buried in Cambusnethan ?
« on: Thursday 16 July 20 16:19 BST (UK)  »
I am trying to find information about my wife's family who are named Martin. I realize that Martin is a very popular name and also there may be many female ex Martin. As far as i know many Martin's were born and died in Lanarkshire. They may have been buried in CANBERSNETHAN.
What information would i need to find out where they were buried ie which cemetery also what program would i need to find the graves. I would be very grateful for any help. I would like at this time to thank all those who have given their time, knowledge and skill to have got me to ANN SMELLIE born abt 1772 a long time ago.
Everyone please keep safe .All the best.

First  of all i would like to say hello to you all and thank you for all the help that you have give. Due to illness i have not been able to carry on tracing my wife's family.

I am now trying to start again at the age of 75 tracing an Agnes Donald born  abt 1779 at Carnwath .Lanarkshire. She was married to George Martin. I would like to find the parents of Agnes . I seem to have George's parents but when i look at Ann Smellie born abt 1772 in Lanarkshire i am unable to be 100% right .Is there anywhere other than ScotlandsPeople  to look? Thank you all again. Best Wishes

United States of America / Looking for my wife's Family in America
« on: Monday 10 March 14 15:20 GMT (UK)  »
I have found a few bits of information about my wife's tree going from the Isle Of MULL to America.
On the Steam ship 'VICTORIA' New York Passenger List travelling from GLASGOW on the 04 Dec 1875 were two families 1.ALEXANDER KING and CATHERINE KING. 2.JOHN JEFFREY and MARY JEFFREY, JANET DUNN. Some more information came that in1880 JOHN JEFFREY and his Wife MARY McDonald were on a census in SOMERSET TOWNSHIP, COUNTY JACKSON, Illinois. I next find that JOHN JEFFREY and MARY McDonald in abt 1920 were in CARTERVILLE, WILLIAMSON, Illinois.
Could you possibly tell me the best place to start looking for more information Please. Thank you.
