oops!  Margaret Booth was married only to Robert Duncan who was a Land Steward. (Not also married to a L. Stewart as previously mentioned)

Hi Sharon:  I just found the death certificate of John Elrick.  He died January 19, 1890 in St Nicholas, Aberdeen.  His father was John Elrick and his mother was Margaret Booth. They were never married.   She was married to a Robert Duncan and a L.  Stewart.  I have confirmed that this was the right John Elrick  because the death certificate says he was married to Mary Robertson.

Thank you for your help.  Now just to find John's father John Elrick's info and his mother Margaret Booth

Hi Sharon:

Thank you.  John Elric date of 1823 sounds right.  Would they have mispelled his name or maybe he changed it?  Could that be possible?  I wonder.

Hi all:
Thank you.  I have checked into a few of your ideas and have come up with the following:
The John Elrick Birth Date  Dec 8, 1826 and parents James Elrick and Helen Mutch was married to a Jessie Keong (not sure of the spelling) not Mary Robertson
The John Elrick (whose parents were Robert Elrick and Elizabeth Nickol) was born in 1803, so I am sure this is not the John Elrick I am searching as the censuses say he was born in the 1820's.
I did find a John Elrick christened Sept 19 1827 in Old Machar, Aberdeen whose parents were John Elrick and Marjory Coutts, but I am not sure of this.  Doesn't match the year 1823.
I found a death certificate for Mary (Robertson) Elrick who died Feb 18, 1894 in St. Nicholas Aberdeen and it said that she was a widow of John Elrick, so that means John died before 1894.  Maybe the John Elrick that died in 1890 St Nicholas Aberdeen is the one I am looking for.  I haven't found that out yet.  Maybe it will say his age and who his parents were.  I am hoping.

Well, that's about all for now.
Thank you all again

I am searching for the birth and death of John Elrick (My Great Great Grandfather).  John Elrick married Mary Robertson December 5, 1850 in New Machar, Aberdeen, Scotland.  I have their marriage certificate, but it doesn't give out any information.  I am also curious to know who John Elrick's mother and father was.  John and Mary had 10 children.  One, Alexander Elrick born Nov 5, 1861; being my great grandfather. George Elrick born 1869 was the youngest.  Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you Susan

I am searching for my great great Grandmother MARY ANN STEMBRIDGE who was born around 1820 in Somerset England.  Her father was William Stembridge and her mother Mary (not sure of Mary's maiden name).  I can't seem to find Mary Ann on any birth records that I am able to access.  She did marry William James Knell on Jan 6, 1848 at St Andrew, Bethnal Green, London, England.  If anyone can help me that would be great.

Thank you

Aberdeenshire / Re: Alexander Harper and Jean Kemp Marriage around 1855
« on: Sunday 05 June 11 18:12 BST (UK)  »
Hi Norma:  Yes, I did find Jane's death certificate.  She died September 1, 1895 at  Royal Infirmary,  Aberdeen from cardiac failure.  Her father was William Kemp a farm labourer (deceased) and her mother was Elizabeth Robertson previously Kemp,  Maiden Surname,  Philip. (deceased)   I found the 1851 Census as you said and noted that Alexander and Jean were there with a William Robertson and Margaret Robertson.  They were stepson and stepdaughter.   Do you think that the Margaret Robertson is Elizabeth Robertson, Jane's Mother.  Either William Kemp and Elizabeth Philip were divorced or William Kemp died.  I will have to check that one out still.   The William Harper who was the grandson was 1 month old.  He was Alexander and Jean's  (Jane) first son born 25 Feb 1851 in Keithhall and Kinkell, Aberdeenshire.  I did find a birth for an Ann Allardyce on Family Search.  She was Baptised/christened 7 Mar 1805 in Crimond, Aberdeen, Scotland, but I am not sure if she is the one I am searching.  Her father Was a George Allardyce and her mother a Elspet Ellis.
Thank you, Have a great day!
